Obviously that's a big part. You can see it on this board even. Cohete has basically gone full Stormfront. All these angry white guys want their country back, not racist. I would hope it's more nuanced and complicated than that.
I remember E. Jean Carrol had a show. I don't remember too much about it because it was so long ago. But I do remember thinking she was kind of funny and a little bit crazy in a good way.
a corollary to presumption of innocence is presumption that accusations are false absent any corroboration/evidence
That makes no sense. If that's the case, you would forgo the presumption of innocence in the face of strong evidences. That's not what presumption of innocence means. The accusations can be extremely credible with strong evidence, and yet that doesn't mean you forgo the presumption of innocence. You presume someone is innocence because a trial is needed to find someone guilty. It's only an ideal in our legal system which is a nice ideal but largely a myth. It's has no play in the public sphere and it certainly isn't a reality there - "lock her up", they "admitted their guilt" said the POTUS about the central park 5 that have been exonerated.
Why now? Maybe for a book? Well, good for you! I'm happy older generations are doing whatever it takes to Get Theirs. Really sets the bar low when the world boils and burns.
Here's the whole video - not the one where you edit it to manipulate people. You really are losing a lot of credibility.
Love the use of contemporaneous, vocabulary is making a comeback, but no having two friends back up her story doesn't give her more credibility, a police report and a rape kit would though
