It's starting to head NW instead of WNW now, and it's at 140 MPH. I sure hope the worst Houston sees is a little rain. It really looks like central Louisiana landfall. B
My father-in-law lives right outside of Lake Charles where it is supposed to make a direct hit. I am going to call and make sure he is prepared.
maybe i missed it, but i didn't see wnw the whole time...i've seen nw for going on three days now, it seems...
now she's moving faster...upper level flow out of southeast and trough out of north are supposed to move it... just heard it's starting to head slightly to the north...whew...
OMG, where did it go?!?! This is one of those new disappearing hurricanes...ya think it's gone, then at the last minute....WHAM! You're dead!
Heading directly for my house I live just south of Lake Charles goodbye house that I spent an entire year of my young adult life building with my father
looking at that satellite picture...we better see a lot more north and a lot less northwest REAL DAMN QUICK!!! i don't recall seeing a hurricane move so fast...
Even if it moves purely NW...it looks like it would hit just west of the border...this means we'd be on the clean side of the storm...and on the outer edge of it at that.
if it hits the border, i think we're in for a rough day tomorrow...not hurricane rough...but look at the center and tell me that if it lands directly on the border we won't end up with a REALLY stormy day tomorrow!
I don't care if we have a lot of rain...this storm is moving so fast I doubt it would flood. What I don't want are hard winds, tornados and storm surge. All of those would be avoided if it hits the border. We live in Houston...we should be used to rain.
