Hottoddie, I have to admit you keep away some of the summer doldrums. *sigh* Boring-ass no-NBA summer (no one mention the WNBA; and the only NBA news so far is pretty much involving Kobe I-Already-Have-a-Hot-Wife-What-Was-I-Thinking? Bryant). It is possible that some of the trades we wish to explore cannot come to fruition thanks to the ownership/GM positions in Portland and Atlanta. Also there are new coaches everywhere (Washington, Houston, Philly) who might want to evaluate the talent they have (Kwame Brown would have been a Sonic on draft night otherwise). I don't know, for example, if Shareef Abdur Rahim is actually in the mix. I like his game, although he is more of a 4/3 than the banger that Brian Grant would be. And then there were the Rasheed Wallace trade rumors; but Portland's gears are grinding slowly with new people in charge. I do believe that Eddie Griffin needs to go and would go if the right trade is there. JVG won't tolerate knuckleheads, and he already has a young team. Same thing with Cat.
I am a Magic fan, and make no efforts in saying anything but. I do feel, however, that I can provide some commentary on the Rockets as I do follow them and would place them up as one of my favorite non-Magic teams. Most of the threads I post in on this board are the trade or contract threads; I don't claim to understand why everyone wants to deal Eddie Griffin or Cuttino Mobley and, in fact, I probably hold them in higher regard than many on this board do. But, like thumbs said, sometimes an outside perspective can bring new light to a situation. And no, I don't visit any Magic boards. Wanna know why? Because they are all littered with trolls (mainly Raptors fans) and quite frankly, the majority of Magic fans I've found out there posting on boards are unknowledgeable and oftentimes jerks. At least here, there are many knowledgeable posters (despite the many threads littered with unrealistic trade ideas) who are more than willing to let a newbie or a non-Rockets fan take part in the conversation (oh, but don't tell that to many newbies...they think the exact opposite when, in fact, they just aren't seeing the whole picture).
