BLS' revisions to previous monthly jobs numbers: The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for January was revised from +119,000 to +148,000, and the change for February was revised from +236,000 to +268,000. I expect March will be the same.
Paul Krugman, "Lousy job numbers". There is a lot of dollar denominated debt out there, and the Fed has a policy of "no bankruptcy", so it seems.
right, and people wonder why Zerohedge can't be treated seriously. GENOCIDAL AGAINST INFLATION RON PAULITES, a distinct race of peoples who have not studied economics. oh lawd.
The person calling others GENOCIDAL tells us not to take those others seriously. Leftist hyperbole and insults are so tiresome. Totally unreasonable to think zero interest rates impact savings, just insane, and genocidal, right?
He's right that cutting social security isn't going to solve the jobs problem, but one could just as easily say "Clearly the answer is more stimulus from the Fed, because that's working so well!"
Well Stimulus from the fed has saved and created jobs. It may not be enough, but it has done something.
I haven't seen any convincing proof that it's done much of anything, and of course it's impossible to say where we would be if there had been no (or much more limited) action by the Fed. This is exactly why we need to work on gaining access to parallel universes!
Yall are so dumb. The word "GENOCIDAL" is what your right wing blog was using to describe Bernacke. So I guess it's the right being lost for resorting to the absurd and insults? That makes a lot more sense. Reading is fundamental boys!
My own job was saved by the stimulus. Thousands of other teachers and state employees had their jobs saved by the stimulus. I've actually lived the proof that it saved thousands of jobs that would have been lost.
Or individuals that see right through someone like bigtexxx and realize that, if you really want, you can spin everything around to place the blame on said PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES (that's his title- how about showing some respect for the President of your country? Of course- you would do that for President Bush, demonstrating clearly YOUR bias). Never mind that, as a careers professional, we discuss the UE and other career-related topics all the time, and President Obama comes up occasionally as a point of discussion, usually in the "he's done a good job but more can be done" category. The large majority of the "blame" for the economy, if you will, has very little to do with President Obama's policies. BigTexxx, you're out of your league on this one. You have such a myopic view that you can't possibly discuss something as complex as the UE in America and bring any sort of value to the discussion. Best for you to step out now and save yourself further embarrassment.
I hope the folks so gleeful that the job situation isn't better, I hope you suffer. Politics is politics, there are people out there losing their homes, cars, jobs and families.
