Northridge High School spanish teacher Rhonda Eisenberg was booked into the Weld County Jail on July 17, 2012, after police said she admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student while he lived with her in 2010. According to the Greeley Tribune newspaper, Eisenberg had guardianship over the boy, whose parents lived in Mexico at the time. KUSA-TV in Denver reports that during a court appearance, the 44-year-old Eisenberg told a judge, "I'm not a bad person." She is seen in this mugshot photo.
Not as good looking as some of the other recent female teachers... That being said, I'd have still hit it when I was 17.
Out of curiosity, what is the age of consent in other countries? I never hear about this **** in France.
I thought 17 was legal in Texas, no? I knew someone who married at 17 to a preteen. Or was it 13, my memory escapes me. Not in the States obviously.
I've never heard of a Romeo and Juliet Clause. Does the 5 year difference apply to any age? Like at 40yo can't marry a 25yo? What about professors dating students? I'm pretty sure some of the UH profs were hitting one some of them chicks when I was at UH. Some seemed pretty open about it with their insinuations.
Once they're 18 its fair game. But if one person is 15 and the other 19 then some states permit this. It's what they call Romeo and Juliet clause. ...or something like that.
I know it's a violation of contract, so at the very least the teacher would lose her job even if the student's at the age of consent. I believe most colleges have the same policy.
That clause prevents some of the more outlandish cases of statutory rape. For instance, guys would go to jail for having sex with freshman or sophomores because they were 18 and the girl was 14 or 15. Never heard it called that, but I know in my state the age of consent is 16, and you can go up to four years younger. So, a 16 year old can have sex with somebody 12 and older, 17 year old can have sex with someone 13 or older, 18 year old can have sex with a 14 year old, and a 19 year old can have sex with a fifteen year old. Once the younger person reaches the age of consent (again this is in my state) the ages don't matter. A 16 year old and a 60 year old can have consensual sex legally.
