If you're two best players can't take you to the playoffs in the NBA in 3 years, then it's time for a change. First year you could chalk up to experience, second year to injuries, but the third year was unacceptable.

Look around the league at the other teams who have not been to the playoffs in 3 years and you're see Houstn is in a class they don't want to be in.

or maybe it just time to add some more talent (as we hope yao's improvement will do and a few tweaks will do)? why do our two best players have to leave simply b/c the supporting cast sucked so much? does that mean the entire team should go (except for yao of course) since they too haven't been in the playoffs. you gotta keep someone. i'd like to keep the two most talented ones.

it would beat the alternative of getting rid of a top 3 backcourt just b/c they've never had much help. is kevin garnett to blame for minnesota never leaving the first round or is it his teammates?

maybe we could just hold onto them b/c they're good and let yao improve and get an actual sf or pf on the team and then let the team get better? why are we getting rid of our better players. hell, if they're so bad, why is anyone gonna give us anything for them?

Bringing in TJ Ford the local and the UT student would be the "splash" Les would want to make. Im not sold on TJ as a player but he will put fans in the seats because of his background. Other possiblities might be Malone, Payton, Kidd, or Jermaine oneal. Those seem like longshots to me so if Les pulls another big move it will come next week at the draft.
