The Rockets have done nothing poorly, except for maybe putting up with Tracy much too long.

No player likes to face their career mortality.

It is better to get rid of them just before the end, than right at the end.

Sometimes players don't know they are done......or can not accept what kind of player they are now versus how they once were.

    No biggie, time marches on.

I'm perfectly willing to eat crow on that one if someone can find a link to that interview.

OP clearly does not know what he is talking about.

    1. Hakeem was old and had heart issues, but refused to retire believing that he still had fuel in his tank. We all knew what happened when he went to Toronto. Hakeem also does not have bad feelings for the Rockets. When has he ever said he was bitter about the Rockets?
    2. Drexler retired on his own terms and is still a Rockets fan to this day. Where's your so called bitterness?
    3. Pippen was a total scrub who was exposed after he left Jordan. He burned the bridges when he started lashing at everyone.
    4. Francis was traded because aside from his athleticism, he had nothing else. He would dribble until time ran out and then jacked up shots. There is a reason why no team retained him.
    5. Shandon Anderson sucked really bad.
    6. Cuttino Mobley and Jim Jackson were not treated badly. They were simply traded in an attempt to make the team better.

Before you accuse the Rockets of being classless or mistreating stars, you really should get your facts straight first. You call yourself a Rockets fan, but that is pretty hilarious. Most Rockets players love Houston. Francis loved it so much that he tried to come back. The organization moved on from a player that had provided them endless frustrations and PR nightmares. It is as simple as that. Please leave then T-Mac and his posse leaves and don't let the door smack you when that day finally comes. Hopefully it will come soon.

My first point: yes, yes he was.

my second point: will have to wait to see if he was misquoted, but as I currently understand it, giving your team's 2nd round opponent the winning nod is definitely wrong, whereas the analysis may have been right.

Lay-off dude, obviously T-mac fans are disappointed and frustrated. Let them have a few days to vent and everything will calm down.

so why did they bring back steve francis?? they even brought back deke.. They kept weatherspoon for a while..

I agree players don't know when they are done and tend to keep playing but management doesn't know either unless they play them. Then when they don't and the player goes then they make stupid comments like we made a mistake blah blah blah

Les Alexander's goal is to have every chinadude wearing a Yao jersey. T-Mac has not been able to bail Yao out. Brooks, Wafer, Artest and Scola got Yao to the second round but that won't cut it. These plans no longer involve Tracy McGrady.

'shady and two faced...' Give us some specific examples of this. I have seen nothing whatsoever to indicate anything of the sort and it seems rather irresponsible of you so go down this path without pointing out some specific actions.

By OP's logic any trade somehow makes you evil and two faced.

    Pieman, you're fantasizing.

He chose the Lakers without batting an eyelid and never mentioned that about the Rockets.

Here's the interview transcribed as well as the podcast:

Man, I really do not understand what is wrong upstairs with you T-Mac homers. What is it going to take for you to see that McGrady is a cancer?!? He did the same thing in Toronto and did the same thing in Orlando. He does a good job of acting like an angel to the media but behind the scenes is a spoiled cry baby. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

i don't know about this team i don't think they can win a championship
they need a superstar on their team and without mcgrady we might not even make the playoffs if it wasup to the fans mcgrady would be playing more than 8 minutes for a superstar of his caliber he can even take some of shanes minutes he's not doing so well an extra 25 points wouldn't hurt but thats houston for ya.

We come to see the PLAYERS not the COACH

Worst Mistake U made this year by far

Well I am a Rockets fan and I honestly understand the hatred for T-Mac. I simply could care less about him but I am just speaking from a reputation standpoint in regards to the Houston Rockets. These constant star exits with bad terms can look quite shady and WILL make other future stars shy away from Houston.

This is simply my opinion and I am not saying that I am right and yall are wrong. Just respect my position on this because I am not changing my mind.

The idiot who tried to tell me I did not know my basketball facts needs to shut the hell up and just make his argument and that's it. Taking shots behind a computer is simply childish.

I did not mean to piss anybody off but..IT IS HOWEVER A VERY LEGIT THEORY.

Houston is a great city and has great passionate fans but at the end of the day, players want to play for organizations that will look out for their best interests too...not an organization that just uses you and tells you to get lost even if you want to continue to play for them (i.e.: Hakeem, Tracy)...

Spurs did it right with David Robinson, Sean Elliot, etc...that is a more classy and favorable approach to making future players feel like they are a bigger part of a solution rather than just a disposable razor.

The problem with your whole theory is that everyone in the league (players, coaches, GMs and owners) all know the type of player and person McGrady is. I can promise you there is no GM, coach or owner out there saying "man, Tracy got a raw deal in Houston"

    Yeah I understand completely.

Tracy was a complete drag while he was here...however, in this situation; he simply wanted to play, that's all.

Maybe this is what he deserves for the crap he pulled last year. I just don't understand why the team is being more unprofessional than he was. You don't stoop down to his level by constantly not giving updates, statements, dates on injury return etc.

Keep talking about everything else, but one thing that no TMac shrine-keepers can argue about is what he did this past season:

He let Rick Adelman know that he's sitting out the rest of the season through ESPN reporters.

I'd LOVE to keep TMac in the rotation. But he's proven to be selfish, shady, and having a bad attitude towards the Rockets organization. I'm just hoping that we don't have a rollercoaster theme after this.

The only thing that I'm worried about in terms of "mismanagement" is whether or not we get a trade that works out for the Rockets.

First, putting Tracy in the same sentance as dream makes me sick. You disgust me. Secondly, tracy needs to understand this is not his team. If he was able to put his ego aside this could work. Tracy is not, and will not be our number one option. Hell, even shaq could put his ego aside to play with lebron. Tracy fans, I'm so glad you'll leave with mac and his selfish ball. Bye Tracy, thanx for the memories.
