VSpan actually looked good last night. he had some good drives to the basket and passed out of the lane well...

He gave a great effort and DID look better than JL3. Still needs to be able to hit an open jumper, though

does JVG set vspan up for failure by playing him at the 2? he is not a catch and shoot player. i want to see vspan running the point with head or tmac at the 2. no jl3 or alston on the court.

now this post is the definition of common sense...which this thread is seriously lacking. like rimbaud said, I am pretty embarrassed for about 6 posters here who are making this TO argument.

I'm so shocked by that argument I can't really even respond to it.

And don't reply to this post to make that argument again,
I won't respond...you'll be typing at thin air.

LOL You really think that JVG has "set vspan up for failure?" There is NOBODY on this planet that thinks more about winning than JVG. If JVG thought that JVG would make the Rockets better, he would play him. He doesn't, so VSpan sits.

JVG demands that the players understand that nothing else matters except the team. When a player becomes concerned with personal goals, rather than team goals, they are given a serious lesson in respect. Bonzi learned earlier in the year, and now its VSpan's turn. Only difference is that VSpan is finished for the year. At least Bonzi has accomplished some things on the court and he has shown that with the right attitude he can contribute. VSpan has done NOTHING, but run his mouth. He is finished for the year and all the posts in the world asking for playing time for the teams 12th guy is not going to do anything. Even if Rafer goes down with a season ending injury do I doubt that the team would look to VSpan (they would make a quick trade). VSpan is in the penalty box for the rest of the year.

All I can say is Vspan played well last night. Only problem is that he can not shoot, that may be a big problem in the JVG system.

All I gotta say is, for the sanity of Clutchfans.net, I hope the Rox never ever draft another international star again.

Hmm, I thought Vspan did terrible last night. Sure he drove to the basket well, but he would drive to far under and get stuck with no where to go. Part of that to blame is his teammates by not moving or spotting up correct. Other part is it seems like he has no idea what he wants to do with the ball (or he's impatient and forcing). JIII gave him pretty of opportunites to handle the ball and play point.

Unless there's another injury, there should be no way Vspan plays for us during a close game.

I did not see Spanoulis "catching and shooting" last night. All of his shots were initiated by his own ball-handling. They were good, makeable shots, and they were in his rythym.

By my observation, Lucas and Spanoulis were basically playing as interchangeable parts when they were on the court together last night. It doesn't really matter whether you call him a '1' or a '2.'

LOL. Seriously. The Rockets win 4 out of 5 on a homestand by an average of 20 points, and half the posts on this board are about some European rookie who can't shoot.

As long as the Rockets are winning, I could give two craps about whether the 11th man is happy or not.

actually, when he was out there he was pretty much running the offense, not JL3. It looked to me like JL3 would bring the ball up and then pass to VSpan at the top of the key and he would run the floor. JL3 kind of played the 2, suprisingly

    Nice try, though

noticed the same thing.... more often than not it seemed (to me at least) that vspan was playing more of the 1 with jl3 playing the 2 last night.

Well, his turnovers are going down. Now, if he can hit a few shots......
