No kidding. If he was in a secluded spot, I don't think there would be much of anything wrong with drinking a beer naked. It isn't like he was in the middle of town or anything.

He was in a county park on public land so public nudity laws apply.

I agree its not a big deal though but I also don't think this is indicative of Republicans as a whole. This guy wasn't even in office at the time of the incident.

I agree: this is far too tame an incident to be indicative of Republicans as a whole. As a whole, they are more likely to be dirty, cheating hypocrites. This guy was just having a wholesome good time in nature.

Former Mayor? Republican? Where do you see christian values even mentioned? You're reaching pretty hard on that one. Just because his former political title might appeal to a particular voting base, how is this guy anywhere near a reflection himself of that base? I also wouldn't necessarily say that a 'Republican' automatically has conservative values either.

I was talking in generalities and only meant to slam those who, for the last 30 years, have touted the GOP as the only alternative for "bible believing" Christians. There is more to it than that but I won't derail the thread. I have no problem with Republicans who don't spout this hypocrisy.

it's worse when the repblicans do this crap cuz they basically run their campaign on family values.....tired of the republicans, especially those who pushed to have clinton impeached and removed from office like Gingrich and the governor of south carolina, doing the same thing. Newt Gingrich especially. If he's our next president. God help us all

Drinking a beer naked in the woods is neutral in relation to family values. There may be a misdemeanor there, but I don't know if you could call it a "sin."
