no kidding, but it's prolly due to listening to AC/DC too much. they also sound more like new yorkers than anything else.
There is a large influx of people from California, NJ, and retirees and others from Florida. They have bucks because they sold their 20 sq. ft. house for a billion dollars and buy a home in Dallas because of it. lol. That and there are a lot of people who are in $300k+ houses. When I first moved up here I saw a family of 2 or 3 buying 3500 sq. ft. + houses. I thought that was pretty nuts - especially when 60% of the house is empty and they get to pay $300-$500 utilities. Frisco's not that bad a drive for me... all my jobs have been within an hour. My current job is only about 20-25 mins away. When I bought my house 1.5 years ago, the houses were selling for around $175-$275k for a 1800-3500 sq. ft. house. Now you'd be hard-pressed to find new construction in good neighborhoods for under $290k no matter what the size of the house. I got in at the right time. I like Frisco because of the soccer stadium, the minor league baseball team, the concerts that will be coming (hopefully they won't all be country... blech), lower property taxes than most all of the metroplex, etc. This area still has a lot of room to grow, too. McKinney was too far out for me. That and the property taxes out there are nuts.
