That's true. He was pissing me off in my fantasy team, so I traded him for Tyreke Evans. I regretted it though. Wallace is still a better fantasy player than Tyreke last season.

    I am with Durvasa.

He doesnt really fit with what we are doing here and he has been brought up numerous times in the trade thread as well as the Carmello thread.

    And Melo can?

Interestingly enough, check these statistics out:

    Melo 3p%: 0.316
    GW 3p%: 0.371

    Melo TS%: 0.548%
    GW TS%: 0.586%

Interesting what you find out when you look behind the hype, eh? ;)

The only reason I wouldn't trade for him is his injury history and age. I know GW is only 27 but with the way crashes into the court and absorbs contact on seemingly every play, his playing age must be 35 by now. IMHO if not for his health issues (and if true poor b-ball iq) he would fit this team like an effin' glove. He would provide D, elite rebounding and looking from stats somewhat decent shooting.

watch the game. if you think melo can't shoot, you're crazy. he's just a superstar scorer who takes contested and bad shots a lot of the time.

gerald wallace is a guy who really doesn't create his own shot and scores off of others.

so i guess wallace is a better shooter than kobe right going by the stats? c'mon, let's be real.

    Gerald Wallace? Sure. For Battier.

How about Rudy Gay for Battier?

Well he did play for Adelman in Sacramento...so he should still be somewhat familar with the offense.

Oh and the obligatory Gerald Wallace photo.

I like how we can always manage to assume the other team just want to trade its best player, you know, just because.

It's as if real life resembles Madden. If you pile up enough of your stuff, you can trade for any player.

And GW doesn't take contested shots? He's the bobcats' best player, if there's gonna be a double team on a player wouldn't it be on him?

Its not like Melo's been playing on a crap team, his team is actually more loaded than the Bobcats, so to pull the "superstar can take crap shots" excuse is not really valid IMO.

I'm not saying GW is pure-breed scorer, if you look at his stats last year was a career year for him in terms of efficiency. However to say he can't shoot while Melo actually shot worse than him last season is just wrong.

Wallace's strengths is his rebounding and defense, plus he's a solid scorer, Melo is an amazing scorer whose a decent rebounder and tends to slack on defense.

Melo is the better player, Wallace would likely be the better fit around what we have right now, but from a development point, obviously that also goes to Melo, that being said, I'd be utterly shocked if Mike had Wallace even remotely on offer, i doubt he'd even be willing to trade him for Melo, perhaps Durant (which obviously isn't happening, ever), that's about it.

if it's not a superstar like melo then we should stand pat for now. melo is the only player available that is worth altering the team for

How about a 1994 Hakeem and a 2003 Tracy McGrady?
