No, not at all. How is under .500 decent?

Because a guy who shoots 35.7% is the 2nd best player on his team.

He's 23yo. He's not on a team with veterans or guys with winning experience. He's learning things on the fly. Defense/discipline and those types of things come with experience, and more games. The fact that he has gotten better every year he's in the league tells you he works hard on his game.

But remember, Dirk, who is one of the best PFs in the history of the game, is a worse defender than Dirk. Hell, Dirk doesn't even rebound now. You don't need to defend all that well to go down as one of the best players in history at that position.

Because a little above .500 gets you into the playoffs right now. I'd call that, getting into the playoffs, good. So his team is decent with the chance to get into the playoffs he'll be good.

Love is not close to Dirk offensively currently.

Not sure I'd call 4 games out of the playoffs in a shortened season close to making the playoffs.

actually he's 19th. And if you zero out the 1 dimensional players and focus on the stars:

    Only:

    Nash
    Durant
    Howard
    Harden
    James
    Chris Paul
    Bynum

    are ahead of him

repost case anybody missed it. 37 percent shooting against him. Sounds like the man CAN play defense.

I never said he was. I responded to the other poster who says Love isn't good defensively. I simply state Dirk is worse/as bad defensively, and doesn't even rebound anymore, and he's still considered an elite PF.

Your idea of decent must have high standards.

It's not. He considers Dirk a top 4 player THIS year. So it shouldn't be too high.

I wouldn't even concede that t_mac1. By any standard Love is better than Dirk this year.

Also, Love is a far better defender than Dirk ever was. But then again, the freak and others want to compare Love to beasts on defense like Howard, yet when it comes to durant, they don't compare his defense to Scottie pippen's and say that KD sucks at defense, which he does.

Love is a better defender than KD, is the funny part of it.

Oh, Love is way better than Dirk THIS year (I don't want people to mistake career now). And Love is more active on defense than Dirk ever was. But Dirk in his prime is lights out offensively, and Love isn't on that level yet. He still has ways to go on both ends. It's a "down" year for the big men actually if you think about it. Howard didn't elevate his offensive game this year. Dirk was terrible for the first month and a half (and he averages 6 freakin' boards a game). Griffin hasn't elevated his game. Your boy Randolph has been injured. LA hasn't been as good since the break. But Love is by far the best PF this year.

But no, Love is not a better defender than Durant. I think that part of Durant's game is vastly underrated. Durant isn't a great help/team defender yet (he's not bad though), but he's a great individual defender.

I never said he wasnt an alite player, all im saying is he is nowhere near tim duncan when he was on his peak. I like kevin love a lot, he is a great rebounder, and a very smart bb player. He knows his limitations and works between them... and he works really hard to get what he gets. If he keeps up, and his teams start to win he can be one of the best pf of all time, but right now he is not there.

You're comparing a guy who barely is scratching his surface to a guy who has gone through his peak prime. Obviously he's not there as one of the best ever b/c he hasn't finished his career yet; he's just getting started.

But the fact that he's already the best PF and top 10 player in the game at this stage of his career is amazing.

He's nowhere near Duncan as a rookie, let alone his peak.

Stop being a troll. Duncan was the best player on a championship team at 23. Dwight Howard led his team to the finals at 23. DRob couldn't get into the NBA until he was 24, but as a rookie he went 24/12/2blks in the playoffs and his team got into the 2nd round. Bird went 21/11/5assists in his rookie year as the team got into the 2nd round.

To even begin to compare Love with any of these guys is like saying Rudy Gay is on Durant's level.
