I heard someone well known (I can't remember her name, lol!) on NPR who had tried out the Nexus and loved it, for what that's worth.

edit: the screen is slightly larger. 3.7" diagonal vs. 3.5" for iPhone 3Gs. Also has a higher screen resolution, 480×800 vs. 480x320 and seems to have a more powerful processor, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. 5MP camera with LED flash and a bunch of other stuff. Sounds very cool.

Just ordered mine. For the past 3-4 months I've been pretty set on a Droid. The power of Google compels me.

Love that Engadget video. UI looks very snappy and responsive.

UI looks ugly compared to the iPhone OS or the Sense UI from HTC.

Since this phone is made by HTC, why doesn't it have Sense UI? HTC has done amazing things with it, it has tons of cool widgets, predictive text, as well as multitouch support.

I have an iPhone right now and don't plan on switching any time soon, but if I were forced to get a new phone, I would have my sights set on a Snapdragon powered Android phone featuring the Sense UI.

800x480 seems useless on a screen that small. To compare, your old tube square TVs were 640x480 and they looked ok. This is the same resolution, wider aspect ratio for a 4 inch screen?

useless. Hoping to see some functionality showcased on their site soon. Didn't see much today.

Perhaps there will be some type of functional connectivity between the device and other home theater devices (Apple TV for example)?

Actually, a higher pixel density like that is AWESOME. I can read a full ClutchFans thread on that type of thread display without ever zooming.

Is there really any difference between the Droid and the Nexus One? They basically seem like the same phone to me. Very similar hardware specs and the same Android OS.

Nexus One runs Android 2.1; Droid, Android 2.0. But the Droid along with other Android phones will update to Android 2.1 soon. Other than that the Nexus One is slimmer due to no physical keyboard and has a better processor.
