We are at war, and have been so since Bin Laden declared war on the US in 1998. Its up to the US to respond, or continue to watch more our citizens die. The question isnt whether or not to war, its whether or not we as Americans wish to watch our very own innocent citizens die by cowards. They avoid direct traditional contact from our military, and no current policy changes will solve this problem. Oh yeah, sure, one will change it, the surrender of US Soil to Bin Laden. You dont think so, then sit back and watch if this country does not rise from its own current state of peace, and take out those responsible.
How much more evidence do you need that their actions will not only grow in time?
As far as crushing their poor innocent country. Read some more on the background. This country is far from innocent and not a pushover if it comes to a ground attack. Unfamiliar soil, along with a battle harden military. This will be no roll over win.

And you think Bush understands more Americans lives will be lost during this battle? Yes, this war is FARRR from the easy decision you claim for it to be. YOUR smoking crack to think otherwise.

But to say what we should have done is foresight, but think of the lives saved had the U.S. used force immediately after the first attack on the WTC, then you answer your own question on whether or not immediately punishing punk cowardly aggressors is needed.
