I still do. I just keep my eyes shut as long as it is dark. But, they say we only use .1 percent of our brain, so we don't know if all this stuff going on is our minds playing tricks on us. But, I think it is very arrogant or presumptious of us to say "there is no such things as ghosts." How do we know ?

Well, I had a post in which I basically saw a "hitchhiker" twice along a stretch of road and of course not possible. There was a lot of fog, but I know I saw him.
I had another experience in which I was still living at my parent's house. It was about eight years ago, and nothing "weird" had ever happened at the home - we had lived there for five or six years. However there was one night in which I had the house all to myself at night. I decided to sleep in my parent's bed because they had "pirate" cable (until they got scared about it and threw the box away - [IMG] ). The real story happens at night when I fall asleep. I later wake for some reason and its still dark. I guess it's between 12:00 midnight and 4:00. Let me ask you something: Have you ever been alone in your house or apartment and it's so quiet, you hear your own footsteps on carpet or someone else's footsteps? Yup, that's exactly what I hear coming from the hallway. I knew no one would be coming home since everyone was out of town. besides everything was pitch black in the house, and it seems normal to turn the lights on. My heart starts to beat so fast that I could hear it pounding. My mind races, and my first thought is that it's a burgular who is about to kill me unless I do something. I lay there still not moving, thinking what to do! I remember the shotgun in the closet, but its empty and.. in the hallway where I hear the steps coming closer and closer! I freeze and pretend that I am asleep. Maybe I can survive this. The footsteps are in the room now. I am so quiet that the footsteps on the carpet is very clear. I know for an absolute fact that I am not dreaming. The footsteps can be heard on one side of the bed ,and then the steps go around to the foot of the bed and stop - as if someone is circling me. At this point I am almost sweating. Then the steps go back in the hallway and then to the point that I don't hear them. I open my eyes and realize if it was a burgular #1. - He definitely did not have a flashlight and #2 All the lights in the house are still off. I know this because the end of the hallway goes to the living room. I think to myself: maybe I was hearing things, then just as I was starting to believe that...Here comes the footsteps again. And in the same walking pace. Getting louder and louder. I cannot tell you how much fear it was for me. I consider myself pretty brave, but I was feeling as if I was in shock. I was literally praying to GOD to help me through the night! The footsteps did the exact same pattern and went out. It was at this point that I thought that this could be a Ghost! But the thing was that nothing ever strange happened at the home. (I did remeber my Dad saying he saw the living room door open by itself, but this happens when its not closed right and the air condition comes on). Believe it or not, I start to feel better in that I might make it through the night. The third time was the last time. However, the footsteps seemed to stop suddenly between the bed and the dresser and I could hear a noise like a ball or something dropping on the carpet - best way I could describe it.
I had never been so scared in all my life - I think. After I think about it, the house was old, and chances are it was indeed a ghost that maybe the family never noticed before.

RoxRan, that was scary. If you are lying, then you have no morals to scare me like that. Whew, that was scary. Great story.

Wow ROXRAN I'm going to sleep easy tonight! Scary story [IMG] My sister's bed used to shake violently when she tried to sleep. And I used to hear footsteps around my house, including a time when I heard footsteps coming up stairs, I went to the stairs and nothing was there YET I STILL heard the footsteps coming up stairs. Weird stuff.

I've never had an experience with a ghost, but I did have one incredibly *strange* thing happen to me.

I was reading for class once (Tess of the d'Urbervilles, ick) my senior year of highschool. I had left off on about page 100, I remember that pretty well. I glanced at my digital clock to see what time it was, and it said 8:31pm. The next time I glanced at my clock, it said 8:32 pm, but somehow I had read about 55 pages! At first, I thought that I must have simply read it wrong the first time, or that my clock had screwed up. So I went to my living room, and asked my mom about how long I'd been reading, and she looked at me strangely, and said that I'd left the living room just a couple minutes ago. I thought I must have been reading for at least half an hour, probably longer.

I wondered if I could have turned the pages wrong or something, but I remembered everything perfectly. I checked in the book, and I was right. I had never read this book before this day, either.

Freaked me out. Had to stop doing the reading. I've had deja vu a few times, but that's the only thing I'd consider remotely supernatural that's ever happened to me.

BTW, if anyone could explain that, I'd be very happy.

I have deja vu alot , thats interesting Haven , I think Time Warps Are possible , My brother was driving come from Santa Barbara back to where we live (about 55 miles) He came back went in the house and called his girlfriend back in Santa Barbara , She asked him "what happened" he said "nothing" , She said "where are you at?" he said "home" , she said "thats impossible" He looked at his watch and what should have been an 45 minute trip at the least had only taken him 5 minutes . So thats pretty wierd

Hey dc rock, is your refrigerator running?

    Then you better stop it!

HA HA HAH AH HA HA HA H AH A [IMG]

On a serious note, however, I don't quite get the whole supernatural ghost experience thing. To be honest, up until about a month ago, I always just assumed that anyone who had an experience like the ones described here and in the older ghost thread were just morons who were just scaring themselves and making up stories (no offense, but that was what I thought).

The reason for my thinking was that neither I, nor anyone I know personally has had an encounter that could not be explained by any natural or physical means. But then I started talking to some of my co-workers about this very subject, and they almost all had experiences with ghosts on one level or another... My opinion of the people who have had said experiences has changed a bit, and I no longer think anyone is a weirdo just because they claim to believe in ghosts.

I still don't believe in them until I have some weird encounter myself, hopefully that won't happen soon! [IMG]
