How many mass shootings has CRT Tamir Rice is the most horrible one. They literally drive up to the kid and give him no chance to respond to commands. Absolutely horrible and a crime against humanity those cops aren't in prison. Those cops deserve vigilante justice. Ya I'm saying it. They deserve it.
The media is failing at its job if every time a Republican is interviewed they aren’t pressed if they believe GRT (great replacement theory) that both Tucker Carlson, and Donald Trump preach constantly and other members of their party continue to push. Then if they don’t immediately denounce the follow up should then be to remind the audience that GRT is the central theme in multiple mass shootings in recent months.
What a horrible, senseless tragedy. People just out getting groceries, killed by a moron. Why does the author think the people who were calmly arrested were treated that way and the ones who were killed were not? The implication is rather obvious (racism). Is that the real reason for the discrepancy? Why do you think it is? couldn't find video for the arrest of Crusius or Gendron https://youtu.be/9yql-CTz0vs Jones and Taylor both involved someone else shooting at officers and they were killed in the return fire (no body cam, though there was a COPS like film crew in the Jones case). What should the police have done when Dylan Roof calmly surrendered at his traffic stop? Beat him up? Shot him? What should they have done when Kenneth Walker shot one of their fellow officers? Somehow, in the incidents were the suspects calmly surrender and sit in the back of the patrol car, no one gets killed. Tamir Rice pulled a realistic looking gun out of his waistband when officers arrived to a call of a suspect brandishing a firearm at people in the park. He responded to their commands by doing that instead of surrendering. Tragic that it involved a young kid that probably didn't know any better, but ultimately there was no way those cops were going to be convicted on that fact pattern. Why didn't this white suspect get calmly arrested? https://youtu.be/a-35YiEZsSg It is almost as though race is not the determining factor.
I'm not debating with a lawyer who only defends black people when they pay him to. I don't believe there is an equal justice system in this country. I don't believe all cops are bad but I've certainly seen enough very racist ones. I remember how you went on and on and on and on defending that killer who slowly choked George Floyd to death. Figures you call people who call out the difference in justice served as racist.
This is some serious BS. If a black officer who shoots a 12 year old white boy who has toy gun in his hand, SCWs would have a completely different response.
More mass shootings are happening at grocery stores – 13% of shooters are motivated by racial hatred, criminologists find https://theconversation.com/more-ma...d-by-racial-hatred-criminologists-find-183098 excerpt: And the way to stop the social contagion of mass shootings is to stop providing perpetrators with the fame and notoriety they seek. more at the link
How is Tucker Carlson even on TV? And how have people I know, that are somewhat intelligent, become so brainwashed by Fox News that it's all they watch, all they quote when it comes to talking politics, which they constantly want to do, and they're still believing that it is "the news?"
I agree. And the only reason I point out Carlson specifically is because he seems to be inspiring some of these shooters directly. Or at the very least, he's bringing their ideology to the masses. And the people that watch his show (and the others you pointed out) are full enough to take these hosts' word for the gospel.
But........it's people that kill, not guns. SMH American hate fueled radicals are more of a threat than international terrorists. I think any politicians who attend rallies for White Supremasists, Radical gun toting right wing churches, KKK, QAnon, or any other hate group rallies should be voted out.
Naturally, and I'm sure there were several "red flags" yet again that were basically ignored by his friends and family and law enforcemen (eta and medical professionals) How did he get his guns?
https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/15/us/orange-county-california-church-shooting/index.html Jeez, another one.
Not sure this is going where you want it to given your recent arguments about free speech. If "they", people like this guy and many others, are getting radicalized by online speech, and expect hero-worship from those same online communities....then what should be done to "stop providing the perpetrators the fame & notoriety they seek" after the fact? How about "before the fact"?
This shooting is in a Presbyterian church in Laguna Woods , a suburb community in Orange County, CA, ~10 miles south of Disneyland; just like its neighboring cities of Irvine and Newport Beach, Laguna Woods has a low crime rate. It happened during a luncheon honoring a former pastor in the Taiwanese congregation. Undersheriff Jeff Hallock said many of the 30 or so people who were in the church when shots rang out were of Taiwanese descent. https://www.ocregister.com/2022/05/15/multiple-people-wounded-in-shooting-at-laguna-woods-church/
I've heard these arguments before and I think it's difficult question. The name of the shooter is legitimate news and I get the feeling if major news services don't publish the names and faces of the shooters there will be cries of "coverup" or claims that they aren't doing so out of political or ideological bias. We saw that with the recent shooter in NYC subways where there were claims that that incident wasn't getting as much attention because the shooter was black. I do think that maybe they shouldn't publish shooter's manifestos but the motivations of a shooter is news. Regarding people getting radicalized online I think there will be criticism either if social media starts cracking down on such content or if they don't. As we know there is such an outcry over social media "cancelling" and "censoring" online content. Given that Great Replacement Theory is primarily a Rightwing viewpoint I'm sure that social media banning such content will lead to much more of an outcry.
