I feel bad for the victims and the families of the victims. I forget at times that there’s actually folks out there who’s lives are forever changed because the governments stance on sensible gun laws is: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
in a country more and more awash with mentally ill, at what point does gun ownership become a privilege rather than a right? the very problem isn't mental health, it's the fact that there are SO MANY guns readily available to a nation chock full of mental illness. "good guys with guns" are good guys until they're not. to think we can control the human/mental health element in this equation easier than the gun supply element is sheer insanity. curb the over supply of pointless guns and magically watch gun homicides decrease.
Are you arguing that those with mental illness should have legal access to guns? For public and self safety, people with guns need to be capable of being responsible and is mentally fit. There can be debate on how to judge those criteria. If you can be responsible and is still mentally fit with PSTD, fine. If stats show no impact, great. But... A common symptoms of this mental illness is aggression and voience. My guess is nope, you can’t be responsible or mentally fit for gun ownership.
