If it's a mentality issue for a US Marine, I'm not sure what to tell you other than that it's likely a result of PTSD. Pretty sure he would have been taught...or someone would have at least attempted to teach him...right from wrong in the United States Marine Corps.
Wiki isn't the best source (a good one though, but you need to check further). https://www.sacbee.com/news/state/article158965184.html https://www.sacbee.com/news/state/article189213039.html "Can I own a detachable magazine holding more than 10 rounds? Yes. For now. Californians who owned detachable magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition were supposed to get rid of them by this past July or face criminal penalties. But gun rights groups challenged the ban. A judge issued an injunction this summer preventing the ban from taking effect while the legal challenges play out. Two pending cases are likely to have hearings early next year, one of them before the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, said Brandon Combs, president of the Firearms Policy Coalition, a gun-rights group." I can't find anything from 2018 on the status of the lawsuit.
I dont. They are media events. You're more likely to be robbed and shot Another case of mental illness. If there is a problem to address its mental illness. You're more likely to be struck by lightning than be in a mass shooting
Facts are out 29 yr old ex marine Police called for mental health disturbance in April, no further action Used .45 caliber handgun Modified it himself to have extended mags I'm sure he got everything he needed over the internet
Bars are soft targets. Even in Texas you can't carry a fire are in a place that make 50% of its money from Alcohol. Time to let me bring my gun in the Saloon.
Sad. I feel as if the frequency of these events is a commentary upon our society. Why are these things becoming a weekly/monthly part of our lives when they weren't 8 years ago?
Just a matter of time until this administration pins this on the shooter's 4th cousin's, twice removed, ex-wife's brother's barber's lawnmower, once was a pen pal with a guy on the caravan. That effing caravan I tell you!
Start with these two 1) improve mental healthcare including accessibility and 2) the Media must stop turning shooters into celebrities.
Exactly. People think you can stop it through legal means because the media plays up their causes, like there is a group to target. They are ALL mentally ill
This stuff is so frustrating. This country is awash with something in the range of 400 million guns. If you're someone determined to carry out a mass shooting, I don't see how you can realistically be stopped. There are just so damn many guns and any proposition to take guns out of circulation (other than how law enforcement already does) is totally untenable. No end in sight. Just have to hope you're not in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Pie in the sky stuff. There are 400 million guns in the United States. If you're determined to get one you probably will be able to.
Trump Undid Obama Rule That Added Mentally Ill People to Gun Check Register http://fortune.com/2018/02/15/trump-shooting-mental-illness/
Agreed but thats a legit constitutional question. At what point of the mental illness scale can someone not have a weapon for protection?
