I like Chuck. I liked him at Kentucky, I liked him as a Thunderbird, yes I am from albuquerque, I like him as a Rocket. He seems to be one of those guys that really makes the most of what he has. Similar to Ben Wallace in that he goes out and every minute on the court he is giving his all. Do I think he should start? Well I am not sure. Juwon until the last game had been putting up numbers and has a better Jumpshot then Chuck. I think unless we move Juwon he is our starter and swift and Hayes have to work time out between them... But I could see..

"Hayes with the rebound, outlet to Head drives down court, alley oops to Swift for the Monster Dunk... the Stro Show is flying high tonight.."

Hayes would beat Stro down the floor for that alley-oop dunk.

Hayes has 6 blocks this season. Hard to believe Juwan Howard also has 6 blocks this season (in 42 games).

Hayes makes his opponent shoot jumpers. They aren't able to bully him underneath the basket or drive around him, at least so far.

the thing i notice about chuck is that he still has a kids body and he plays pretty well. imagine a couple of years down the road when he puts on 20 pounds of muscle, he might be something special.

I agree, but he's more than a tweener, he's a threener. He can also play center, the position he played in college but he's too short, he can play powerforward but he's not strong enough, and he can play some three but he's not quick enough.

I think one thing that a lot of people are forgetting is that Hayes is only 22! Looking at how he understands how to play the game so well already, just shows how much of an asset he can be down the line. (Especially if he works hard over the offseason like Kenny Thomas... I think he could turn into a similar type of player if he puts in the time). If you count Hayes as a draft pick, this is probably one of the best drafts that the Rockets have had in a very long time.

However, unless he gets a nice jump shot, he should stay out of the starting linup. He's perfect being our Ryan Bowen type, but with the ability to finish around the basket.

I might be the only one, but I like our starting linup as it stands right now. I enjoy seeing all our young guys get on the floor in the beginning of the second quarter. The game speeds up, and catches the other team off guard. It's a lot easier to suprise a team from going from a half-court team to an open floor team than the opposite way. Then in the fourth quarter, Gundy can pick and choose which players to put in for the final minutes based on how they played through 3 quarters.

I'm ready for a Rockets run for the playoffs, even if there's a good chance that they will come short. I'd rather them play hard, than just give up.

I like Hayes's play. But he definitely cannot play small forward. What he can contribute is to stay low and punish opponents for doubling yao.

At best Hayes (who is playing quite well off the bench) will be a Kenny Thomas like player in this league because of his height.
