With the Warriors on defense, anything is possible. He needs 14 more in 7 minutes.

God, the Warriors are so frustrating.

Just an unbelievable sequence of stupid decisions combined with their inability to box out and get a rebound.

Same thing with the Blazers not fouling and instead letting Kobe get a three to tie up the game and take it to OT, where they eventually won the game.

These young teams have a lot of talent, but they're incredibly dumb and just flat out can't execute down the stretch.

I am just glad Lakers won the game and I am happy that Kobe's streak ended.

No need to carry that baggage. It is unrealistic to break Wilt's record anyway.

Just focus on the game and get the win, baby!

i didn't see this game (well, i didn't see the portland one either) but kobe hit that 3 against portland with 17 seconds left. that's too early to start fouling to prevent a 3, especially in the nba where a timeout just moves you right back to halfcourt. now i would say they were stupid for not doing everything to keep someone from getting off a 3 to tie (although it was a pretty hard shot) and that's a huge pet peeve of mine but you can't foul with 17 seconds left. then you're just asking to have them make their ft's and you miss yours and only being up 2 with 14 seconds left and them at halfcourt. at least imo. now with 5 or 6 seconds to go it makes sense.

Without goin to the free throw line 15+ times, there is no way kobe can score 50+ points!

Seriously, he was, to an extent. He missed a bunch of wide open shots tonight.

By the way, anyone who thinks the Warriors have more than a 5% chance of beating the Mavs in a 7 game series should have their head examined. Tonight showed exactly why the Warriors couldn't beat ANY good team in a 7 game series, much less the Mavs.

Wish I could have seen the game. Seems like neither the Nuggets or Lakers want the #6 seed.

From the game recap, hahahaha I'm laughing at this. Kobe stinks.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Kobe Bryant's string of outstanding games came to an ugly end Tuesday night, and the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a most embarrassing loss.

Rookie Tarence Kinsey scored five of his career-high 24 points in the last minute, fellow rookie Rudy Gay had 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, and the lowly Memphis Grizzlies beat the Lakers 88-86.

Junior Harrington had 13 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, and Pau Gasol added 10 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists for the Grizzlies, whose 18-54 record is the NBA's worst, as is their 6-30 road record.

Kobe refusal to guard the nobodys in this league resulted in an ass-whooping by Tarence Kinsey.
but he has an excuse cuz he has to carry all the offensive load...other scrubs on the lakers squad have no reason to let rookies went off on them

dayum, 6-30 on the road before tonight? i guess i knew it was bad, but that's solid. good thing they won 5 before this. and why was smush taking a 3 for the win with 6 seconds left?

i mean i know kobe sucked the whole night but he did hit his last 2 and just hit 2 ft's according to the play-by-play. that was like the knicks game where kobe hit a bunch of shots down the stretch and then on the last play they let odom get the ball and he takes some horrible shot that doesn't draw rim. if kobe (or any star of a team) misses, then he misses. if smush parker misses, you're thinking why wasn't kobe shooting it? especially smush freakin' parker. why would you ever have him doing things on a big play at the end of a game? that's like us giving it to rafer instead of tmac at the end of a game or something. you just don't do it.

The Lakers are SOOOOOO playing the positioning game.

They want Phoenix it is clear.....and they are willing to tank to get there.

It's funny how everyone wants to play the Suns and avoid the Spurs in the first round. Both the Lakers and the Nuggets have a lot of confidence against the Suns, they don't fear them and know they can matchup with them.

The Spurs, mathup or not, no one wants to touch them. I do think though that the Lakers are a more interesting opponent for the Spurs in the first round, they've shown that they can beat them. the Suns and Nuggets, on the other hand, is a far more interesting matchup and there is a real chance that with Melo and AI they might pull an unlikely upset.
