I can't trash pharmaceutical companies or their reps... Pharma companies pay my employer to do research on their new drugs, my employer, of course, pays me. Therefore, I'll keep my mouth shut. Though to be quite honest, if your doctor is a good doctor, he (or she)'ll make reps schedule an appointment if the rep really wants to talk to the doc. That way the doc can schedule everything accordingly.
My Dad is an anesthesiologist. I haven't lived with him for nearly 20 years, and I still have notepads and pens that he got from various drug companies that I took when I moved out. As for the waiting times, I thought this article from Slate was interesting: http://www.slate.com/id/2173271/
Kelsey Seybold clinic is pretty good at waiting times...I never had to wait more than 30 minutes to see my primary doctor or a specialist. I HATE waiting more than a hour!
I had a routine eye exam scheduled for 8:30 am once. Granted I was a new patient at this clinic, and I know it takes time to create a new paper copy medical record, but I didn't see the doctor until 12:00pm! I've never had to wait longer than an hour for a routine eye exam, let alone 3.5 hours.
also drug reps usually bring bribes (lunch and sometimes sex, which is usually after work)....they often wait until the doc is done with all the patients before talking to them.
even the guys i used to hang with were handsome. the female drug reps are drop dead gorgeous. its ridiculous its so obvious. edit: not saying they're sleeping with the doctors, also when I graduated from college I was in this analyst program at a bank, you had to have some knowlege of accounting. they hired another girl who dated the son and stepson of a couple who were execs, she was a marketing major. she was clueless on accounting but she was a former college cheerleader and her parents for her graduatuion got her fake boobs. all the vps in the bank liked to come and talk to her. she eventually left for a marketing job selling some kind of medical equipment to doctors.
Yes, I remember that vividly when I worked and did internships in the health care field. The free food not the sex, that is.
Hmm...last time I went to the doc (about 3 months ago), I waited for 5min in the waiting room, then another 10 in the examination room. I was on the way home in 25 minutes. Does that mean my Doctor sucks?
