I developed a mild case of tinnitus after a booze-filled bender a few months ago. Had no idea what it was, but when I looked it up and realized it was tinnitus, I started freaking out bc they said it never goes away. Had to sleep for a few nights with a tinnitus blocking sound playing on youtube. Thankfully, it went away after a few days of drying out. I really feel for anyone who has to deal with something like that on a permanent basis... drove me nuts.
Oh yeah I have it in my left ear, nonstop thanks to My Bloody Valentine in 2009; the band even passed out ear plugs and had signs warning folks it would be loud. Really wasn't until the 10 minute closer, You Made Me Realize. The aural equal to staring into the sun, I could feel intense pain in my ear during it and have had a thousand screaming kids in my left ear since. The band even said looking back the volume on that tour was excessive. Bastards.
i actually do half rubbing alcohol / half vinegar. it definitely helps dry out and loosen built-up earwax. the next day is a feast for my q-tip!
May try this, but everything I've read says that using a q-tip just ends up pushing everything back in further.
for those with lingering pain without effective treatment, you should consider visiting Quebec and book an appointment with an Osteopath specialist
I have felt fluid in my left ear for years, don't know what it is, ENT gave me antibiotics for it once but it didn't do anything. I feel it most when I'm blowing my nose, it kind of pops and I feel the fluid.
Update to my original post...snap/crackle/pop doesn't go away unless they cut off your head, drain the juice with the bubbles in it, re-attach your head, and then re-introduce the juice without the bubbles. The good news is the body and mind are resilient. After initially bothering me a great deal, I now don't even notice it unless I want to. The rest of my symptoms in my original post went away on their own. Some mild illness must have played a part in some of those symptoms (tunnel hearing or whatever).
