lol, this list is hilarious. But who the heck picks on someone else if they are still not in grade school? I spend considerable time in the gym, but most things mentioned earlier really don't bother me. I'm just usually super conscious of how dirty the actual gym is. I wonder when someone is touching or scratching their face after touching all those dirty barbells and machines. Doesn't really affect me in any way, but I think its a good way to get some sort of rash on your face. -I sometimes get kinda pissed if the tv doesn't have subtitles on them especially if I am on a cardio machine for some time. -Certain bike machines aren't working or you can't monitor your heart rate, so that kind of grinds my gears. -Probably the main thing I don't like is the selection of radio. I don't mind the techno, or even a little rap, but there is no variation in what they play. Its either 100% rap or 100% techno, I guess depending on the managers taste that day. I stopped wearing my Ipod for the actual weight training portion, as people tell me it is kind of an anti-social thing to do. I wear it only on some really tough sets where I need the extra motivation. -I get more upset when I ask someone on a machine I am waiting for how many sets they have left, and they say 6 or 7. This person usually never even offers to allow the person waiting to even alternate or work the machine along side with them while they rest. This person usually takes like 15-20 minutes to do all 7 sets, but they take a break of 2 minutes in between each set. I could be alternating during this time and finishing my workout. -I also don't like it when people talk very loudly to each other, that I can hear their conversation. -Also in the locker room when someone is done taking a dump, he doesn't even bother washing his hands and he just goes back to lifting weights. Nasty!
Hey Realcad, you don't have the email function turned on. I need some pointers on how to lose my man breasts. I do not enjoy their form or functionality.
Maybe he wasn't finished pooping so he decided to go lift some weights really quick to get some more poo going and he was going right back. Maybe the weights were his!
I hate it when I'm walking around the locker room naked and I get really crazy looks Like those women have never seen a naked man before
I agree with several of the listed peeved. A few that have not been mentioned: -the person that insists on filling their entire water bottle up while people are waiting and there are other water fountains availible other places in the non workout area of the gym. -the dude on the lat pulldown machine that leans all the way back to be parallel with the floor. I don't know why but this annoys me
1. The girls in there that are buffer/stronger than your average bison. It's good that you can bench 325 10x, but you look like my uncle Carl. 2. People who see that I am clearly working on my game by myself in the gym with headphones on asking me if they can shoot around with me. You do know that there are 4 goals and infinite basketballs at the front desk, right? Lastly there is this one old guy who is there everytime I am coming up to my bench and spotting me even if I didnt need the spot wtf? I am on my third rep of 12 dude I will preface my set with a will you spot me if I need ur services thanks.
The 24 hrs fitness I work out is always hot as hell. They don't use ac, just a big ass fan. I can't stand going in there after work to work out. It's like socializing hour although there are lots of attractive women. I usually like going to the gym late, because there's less people, but the basketball courts don't stay open after midnight. The BO guy is also another one of my pet peeves.
I'm curious to know where posters here are working out.. i know a lot of the gyms in the Houston area.. just curious
Pretty much two things that bother me is 1) not washing your hands after dump/pee...C'mon, you're lifting weights, cardio, etc...2) getting into the cold dip or jacuzzi after you've been in the sauna or steam room all sweaty and stuff...All your funk is now in the water... ok, I digress... Luckily in our gym, there are sanitizer dispensers and use them religiously...Espeically with the winter coming, everyone being sick and sneezing and hacking everywhere... btw, Ladi_Di is hot...oh wait, wrong thread...
Not picking on you but alot of these seems like people trying to be helpful I'm amazed that people trying to be helpful is such an annoyance in our world Rocket River
That is probably one of my top gym pet peeves. But my biggest is when the court is completely empty I go all the way to the far basket to shoot by myself and some idiot trainer brings someone in to do some weird squating/one legged exercises that require them to use up the ENTIRE gym...like they can't use one side of the court...no they have to go through the middle of the gym to do it. WTF!?! I hate watching people do these drills too, it's like man, you can do that same crap in your house, why are you coming to the gym to do it?
Another douche bag used the squat rack today to do his baby curls. On top of that he kept swinging through all his sets. ...Hispanic. 24 hr fitness. Years ago my dad got me a personal trainer at One to One fitness on Richmond. That was actually a pretty cool gym. Serious folk.
Mostly the 24hr fitness on Dairy Ashford and Westhiemer. But I frequent the one in Meyerland. Once in a blue moon I'll go to the one on Mason Rd. and the 610 and Westhiemer super sport.
