Anna-Megan Raley and the Chunky Cheerleader story?

J&R shows ratings are high even though they don't even talk sports half the time. You can't just say the texans are the reasons their ratings are high.

 

As I said before, because their listeners are idiots. They cater to the lowest common denominator, and because of that they have plenty of supporters.

 

His ratings are high because 610 is the only sports radio station most people have heard of because of the Texans.

 

I have lots of friends who listen to sports radio, and I can confirm that the friends of mine that still listen to 610 have that ingrained in them because it is the station of the Texans (also all are the most casual of sports fans).

Plus it's the station that has been here the longest. I think i saw online that 610's rating dip down about a point after football season while the other stations stay at about the same level (coincidence?).

If people enjoy listening to them then more power to those guys. I gave it an effort from time to time (during commercial breaks of other stations) but just don't find them enjoyable. It's hard to enjoy listening to a person who is clearly a douche tell other people his opinion is right all the time.

 

Because the "shock jock" routine has replaced quality. Iness is a walking ****ty tabloid. That get's the attention of some, but not anyone who doesn't need help tying their own shoes

I have the same opinion of our "sports" guys. I have no idea how people can listen to complete crap. They mainly talk Braves when they talk sports, and I know more about the Braves as an Astros fan than they do.

 

I agree. By default due to its contract with the Texans, 610 gets the best team guests and gets them first. (And, not surprisingly, by design the Texans REFUSE to allow Innes to ask their people questions, because they do not want to be associated with him or his asinine behavior and immaturity in any way/shape/form.)

I used to listen to 610 all the time. I still bite the bullet as much as I can so I can hear the good guests, but now often switch back and forth because the Sewar Rat Innes is just horrible. I called him on it via Twitter and he just blocked me like he does to anyone who disagrees with him. He's a hack, and I haven't seen someone ride others' coattails like this since David Carr won a ring as a backup QB.

Also you don't seem to understand the dynamics of radio. You can move the a show, any show, to another station and your previous listeners are unlikely to follow. People are creatures of habit on radio stations and it almost takes a format change to get them to switch.

 

This is a big reason why the maintain high ratings. Consumers are too dumb to find a better product.

 

Or the other stations are too dumb to actually market their stations and/or talent.

How many casual radio listeners even know 1560 or 790 exist? That's poor marketing, not dumb consumers.

Casual radio listeners probably don't enjoy sports talk. They enjoy farting jokes and smarmy personalities.

 

Honestly, I had no idea what JI looked like...so I googled his name and that pic was one of the results. Thought it was funny...since the overall sentiment toward him is that he is an idiot. That's all.

 

Yeah it looked more like a bad picture than her being thick.

 

I tried listening to 790 about twenty minutes ago. Host was annoying. I was hoping to hear about the Rockets. They were talking about the Texans so I switched to 610. Surprisingly they were talking about the Rockets.
