Dat Detroit Smash doe! I think I'm actually enjoying the anime more then I did the manga. They haven't cut anything that I've noticed, pacing has been great to me so far, music is excellent especially in those big build up moments to the smashes. I haven't actually purchased anime in a long time but whenever they have a nice collection of this I will cop it. And Texas Smash is best Smash btw
Also the dub for Hero Academy is surprisingly good. This show could be huge if it gets on American tv
So I have caught up on all three shows. I actually put them in reverse order of that. Re: Zero - I'm a sucker for these more "cerebral" puzzle type shows. I really like Log Horizon for instance and some find that show sort of slow My Hero academy - It's cute, but I think I've seen variants of this show before both in Hunter x Hunter and early Naruto. It is pretty fun though. Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress - Am I watching Blade? It's cool, but there hasn't been much plot movement yet. It wants to be the most hype this season, but it needs to show me more. All 3 shows are good though and I'll continue to follow them. Thanks to everyone for the recommendations. Re:Zero spoilers Spoiler I think Subaru is a little slow perhaps for plot purposes. He's clearly a guy who seemed to understand the meta-game here early. I don't see why he didn't realize he can't run away from the puzzle at the mansion. Though this last episode was very intense, he shouldn't have to realize that he cares about the maids to want to go back and solve the puzzle. He should want to solve the puzzle for the sake of moving on. I can't wait to see what he does with his next reboot. My Hero Academy spoilers Spoiler I thought it started a little slow, but it's starting to hit its stride. I wonder if there is any additional training he could do to try to control his power better. Right now his power is a one shot only deal and he needs medical attention afterwards. That's gotta improve. Kabaneri spoilers Spoiler The plot is just starting, but I feel like there is a much larger picture that we don't see yet. Are there more Kabaneri running around out there? I can see why people are hyped, but to me it hasn't quite delivered yet.
I'm actually starting to agree actually. But mine would be My hero academy - just a great story and action imo Re: zero (since the reveal of his killer episode) Kabaneri - it's not that it's starting to get bad and I still look forward to it every week, it's just the other two have stepped it up tremendously. It's becoming more and more AoT like imo in the sense that there's more to the kabaneri everyone actually knows so far.
Spoiler The anime has done a great job so far but with a lot of anime adaptations its hard to explain what's going on inside the MC's head without tons of internal monlogue. Subaru is basically having a mental breakdown at this point and it becomes worse when he realizes that he has to kill himself in order to start all this over. And I think it would be hard for anyone to willingly get themselves killed even tho they know they'll come back. He remembers the pain of all of it when he dies every time, and most of the time he is putting on a brave face when he is just dying on the inside. I'm curious if this is just one season like Erased...the manga is not that far ahead of the anime.
Thanks for that explanation. It adds to what I've seen in the anime. Spoiler If this is only one season like Erased, does it offer up a nice resolution like Erased did? I heard there were novels too, are the novels much further ahead? And speaking of Erased is the story of Erased over or was there more in the manga?
Anyone seen big order? Just recently discovered it and I'm really enjoying it so far. Got the sense as if I watch watching mirai nikki and sure enough it's made from the same person.
Spoiler Manga is not over yet so don't know the reaolution, and I don't know if there are light novels but I bet they would be a good read if they were.
On Netflix Anime binge right now. Im 20 episodes deep into Sword Art Online, I have Hunter x Hunter, Magi, and a couple others in queue right now. Are there any "MUST WATCH" Anime on Netflix that I am missing out on?
I havent started re:zero...while I like watching the meta-real-life MMO genre, can I get at least one series to finish all the way through? Light novel adaptations are the worst. Read thru the thread and check out kiss anime
Not anymore unfortunately. The complete first season isn't available on any streaming service as far as I know.
Hmm, haven't watched any of the Fate's so I didnt want to start here. I would go with: (in this order) Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Ace Attorney My Hero Academy Also, the almost made top three list: (in no particular order) Bungo Stray Dogs Big Order And you thought there is never a girl online And the why did I watch this list: Jokers Game Kiznaiver
I like Kissanime but use it as a back up incase Hulu/Netflix/Crunchyroll doesnt have what I seek. Ie, 'Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress' and 'And you thought there is never a girl online?'
RE:zero isn't a fate series. It's like erased with the time travel and suspense. Glad you're enjoying ace attorney! The game is so fun. Big order is a good one too, get that mirai Nikki vibe.
