it’s wholesome, and anime is kinda dry atm with no Demon Slayer, no AOT, no JJK, no Chainsaw man, etc I know nothing about the manga or how the story goes, so I’m still watching with the hope that it goes from what it’s been to something dark and fast paced after this setup that’s taking forever…if it doesn’t, then this anime would be a waste of time
I am currently going through season 5 of Food Wars and still can't believe how much I love this show, maybe because I like to cook and love history and they do a good job of highlighting different actual cooking skills and the history of the dish. There is no way they should be on season 5 and have anybody still care because it's pretty much the same thing but the "Food Wars" are always entertaining and some of the dishes make you actually want to try them. It's just very well made and the interactions are great, I usually only like action anime but for some reason, this show checks all the boxes. It's on HBO Max. I liked Noblesse as well but would have liked more backstory about the characters and their powers, hopefully, they do another season because they left a lot of loose ends.
It's a wholesome slice of life series. Kind of a palate cleanser for dark stuff. Slice of life genres are meant to be slow and less about arcs. Like any palate cleaner, it's not recommended to binge all at once.
Watching the CyberPunk Edgerunner show and b*stard! on Netflix, entertaining so far. Sidenote, I don't know how I missed it when it was airing but Boondocks is a classic, damn.
Watched the Gantz:O CGI Anime Movie today. Good Fairly true to the manga CGI was amazing. It was made 6 years ago and it blows away the CGI in Marvel shows/movies. Wtf is going on over at Disney?
Mentioned Made in Abyss in the other thread. It's one of the most imaginative series I've seen. Crazy dark despite the kiddy adventure theme. A bit like Attack on Titan for how messed up it can get. Biggest knock other than how dark it can get is that the creator likes drawing them naked from time to time but it's not sexualized. If anyone plans to start, there is a movie that continues the plot in between seasons one and two.
Really enjoyed Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Definitely left it open to do like an anthology. Finally getting around to HunterXHunter, pretty good stuff without knowing much about the show.
There's a jujutsu kaisen movie out that's pretty wild. It's a stand alone-ish prequel and not a filler.
not sure how in depth I should go, but at its most basic level, it’s based around humans with cursed energy called jujutsu sorcerers attempting to eradicate cursed spirits that are born out of human emotion, fear, and negativity the writing is very good tho with its world building, characters, fights, and power system/techniques
Boondocks is a top 5 all time comedy show for me, and that's including live action, just a genius show. Ended way too quick.
