Kuroko no Basket is the latest basketball anime I've watched and so far I've enjoyed it very much. The manga is still running and it's an excellent read as well.

I have to disagree on Elfen Lied. I think it's a great show. Yeah, it's uber-violent, particularly the first half of that first episode. And there are a few goofy fanservicy moments, particularly toward the beginning. But I actually quite like the story that's underneath all of that. It's basically about the trauma of being ostracized by everyone for being different, tied in with serious abuse themes. And I liked the characters, even though a few were a bit one-dimensional.

Anyway, different strokes for different folks.

Character that pops into my head when I read this is the guys cousin. Didn't like her one bit.

normally its like a chapter to a movie. I'm saying that based on the Samurai X movies and the OVA chapters.

I actually haven't watched an anime in its entirety since Fate Zero last summer, but dear GOD, fully recommending Shingeki no Kyojin.

Original video animation. They're usually episodes that were not in the Manga.

The Sci-Fi nerd in me says that Planetes is the best anime ever. It's about garbagemen in space cleaning up debris. Given recent news reports coming out of the EU, it's topical, too

Yeah I did that :) but it didn't make sense. The OVA anime episodes I viewed had short counterparts in the manga so I was confused.

Also I now have become addicted to anime fanfiction for stories that aren't completed with the end of the series I've read/watched

I bought the DVDs and watched the first 8 episodes years ago... I actually didn't find it all that compelling. I know that it's well-regarded and I am a sci-fi fan, but it just didn't grab me. Probably just wasn't convoluted enough.

I should go back and give it another try at some point.

Galactic Heroes...one of the most complete sci fi epics ever.

No tricks or gimmicks. The pacing can feel like a book at times because it's dialogue heavy, totally goes deep into the human condition and what society should be, which was how sci fi was intended before the pop graphics.

I'm currently reading (although there are no updates as of this time) Ahiru no Sora. Some drama but a lot of game nonetheless. I'm now interested in this Kuroko no Basuke so I'll have to check it out
