Thanks. I was trying to get some of them to realize it.

*sigh* I was cheering for the Giants, but they blew it last night. It was their series to win...and they lost.

    Grats to the better team.

im not a hardcore yankees historian..but im willing to bet that there havent been many yankees teams that have won the series as such an underdog, with this size payroll, and with players with this much heart. when i think of the yankees i think of the biggest market in the US and the ability to buy babe ruth, to buy reggie jackson, and to buy all their great players. giambi, clemons, williams, jeter... and if there are any home grown talents they have 98 million dollars to retain them with. maybe THAT has something to do with your 26:1 ratio. and thats great that you can cheer for them. but i mean...whats the fun in cheering for the clear favorite with all the pay roll advantages.
but..hey...this year..the angels beat the yankees, with probably half the payroll. go angels. sucks for you, yankee fan.

God, I'm not even American and I'm over Yankees fans. Could you just try to be a *little* gracious in defeat? It's hardly like you're short of World Series wins, right? You're starting to sound like the Australian cricket team, and that's *not* a compliment. Everyone loves an underdog...

Elvis and I put Richard Pryor's 'spider monkey' sketch on the stereo at crucial moments during games six and seven. We assume we had a little something to do with the Angels' triumph. ;)

Certainly it remains to be seen. I wasn't trying to claim that they definitely WOULD repeat or anything...I was just making the argument that the Angels are not going to pull a '97 Marlins.

I never claimed that there wasn't an element of luck involved. And no, I don't think that it is required that some of your players play above their head to have a really successful season (if a really successful season is making the playoffs). Making the playoffs is all I was referring to. As the Angels/Twins proved this season, once you make the playoffs, all bets are off. The Angels have a decent amount of talent on their ballclub. I think they are perfectly capable of making the postseason without a great deal of luck thrown their way.

I like both teams going in for various reasons. But I now have more respect for the Angels and less for Dusty Baker. I know that Giants aren't known for having a deep pitching staff, but I don't know why he didn't change pitchers more often when they were in trouble. Give the props to the Angels...they did what it takes to win and they did it as a team.

I am happy for the Angels, but I was hoping that Bonds would get a ring. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it though.

I'm in SF, and you should hear the people ripping Barry a new one this morning. Not so much on radio, but just in the streets: at a coffee shop, as I walked by a construction site, on the bus. Amazing to me. Basically, nobody has done more on offense for their team in the world series, ever, and he's still a villain.

They're mainly ripping his play in the outfield and his poor attitude with respect to the team.

I'll put up with Barry's interviews, because I get to see him play here, and it is simply amazing to see that bat speed in person.

Barry played great and I was hoping he would get a ring too. I wasnt really rooting one way or the other though. I was glad for the Angels because they seem like a classy team and it is nice to see some teams other than NY and all the other media darlings. I thought it was a really good World Series. My wife and I both enjoyed watching all the games.

I agree that he is an awesome talent, but his people skills suck. Why does he feel the need to seperate himself from the rest of his team in the locker room, or sit and stare at his homeruns, I could go on but you see my point. I cannot stand his baseball personality, but he is an awesome player.........I almost caught myself rooting for him a few times, but luckily I caught myself ;)

Angels were the best team. There is nothing lucky about 162 game season and a 15-20 game playoff. That's real. They owned baseball this year.

Even though I am not an angels fan, it is good to see a team like them win it, who knows next year it might be our stros

That is crazy. He broke a couple of World Series Records. He played incredible. Without him they would be no where. The SF fans are stupid.

OK, here's another simple ratio for you:

    55-37-1

Considering your signature, you don't seem to respect that, so why should anyone respect this?

    It was an excellent series.

Game 6 reminded me of Game 6 of last years NBA Western Conference Finals. :p

    Thats not a ratio.

I'm not a Longhorn fan or a Sooner fan. I am a non-Simms jockist, and they haven't exactly done great against OU with Simms in the pocket.

Or with Major, but you love to leave that out.
