Now take Brown, Espada, Abreu, and Bagwell with you.

Feels like a forced retirement being the middle of the season

Maybe this is why MLB is delaying robo umps for at least another year. They figure with Angel Hernandez gone; their overall correct ball/strike calls will greatly improve.

Doesn't even deserve a thread about it or any conversation at all. Just let him disappear like a fart in the wind.

Probably the worst umpire of all time, even if not statistically. When you add in his total ******* demeanor...Woof. What a POS

Ofc it is. There was negotiations for financial settlement. They wanted him gone and out of the union.

Their union has to be softening up as well given all the real-time missed call stuff that makes every umpire a virtual household name (and not in the good way). Previous unions would never allow for an umpire to be forced to retire mid-season (he’s not even 65).

Then again, they never say “fired with cause”, so I guess this is the compromise.

If MLB can get rid of Angel Hernandez, maybe there is hope that the Astros can get rid of Abreu.

In some strange way I might miss the guy, he was so bad it was entertaining and funny. Maybe I have Stockholm syndrome or something.

"People close to him tend to love him, he is genuine, he sends them daily religious verses"
Can we stop virtue-signaling... Angel being a Christian and sending bible verses to people doesn't make up for him being terrible at the actual requirements of the job. I'm so tired of God being used to prop up people who don't otherwise deserve it. And I say this as a Catholic myself. Sorry, won't go further, this isnt the D&D.
