Where did you hear that rumor? I currently have a preorder for the HTC EVO 4G, and I am thinking about holding off until 2.2 is released for it.
Good stuff. I'm getting the Evo next week so here's hoping its available with the release of the phone.
Froyo installed. I like it. Haven't hit any major changes yet, but I didn't really care for flash in the first place.
Sooo all of you folks with Froyo installed have rooted phones, yes? If not, how'd you install it? If so, I'm surprised by how many people root their phones.
Huh, I knew about that method, but for some reason I was under the impression it had to be rooted. If it doesn't, then I'll certainly be updating tonight!
Inside information ..... of course it could turn out to be baloney . Which wont surprise me at all. lol Ive called all the damn Best Buys in the Houston area and no one is doing June 4th pre-orders anymore I only want to go to BB because I have gift certificates I need to use.
I did a preorder through Best Buy for the same reason, over $500 in gift certificates I need to use. HTC has said they will do a 2.2 update for Android phones released in 2010 the second half of the year, which would mean July at the earliest. HTC has been slow to upgrade their phones in the past hence my shock at your statement about 2.2 being available in June. I do hope you are right though, it'd be a huge bonus to have 2.2 the first month of having the phone.
DARN IT B !! I was hoping you would let me take over your pre-order spot ...off to go cry in the corner now
I WANT IT SO BADLY!!! But alas...I have a Droid Incredible. Sense UI, you are a blessing and a curse.
Installed it and Flash 10.1 Beta... but I don't really know many flash sites to test out. hulu.com and popcap.com don't appear to work right. It tries, but fails. I suppose that's why the Flash Player for Android is still a beta? My Nexus One does feel noticeably faster even doing little things and that's nice. I've already used a few other new features such as the "Update All" in the Market (boy is that convenient). Little things, little things... It's amazing how far Android has come in just 18 months.
OMG boargasm. I didn't see this yet. Like I did with the iPhone, I stopped updating all but the really important apps cause it took too long to try to update 25 apps individually. Awesome. Best feature of Froyo so far.
