Is it safe to say that dude is as, probably more, injury prone than Yao? I mean, even Yao wasn't hurt this much at Bynum's age. Also, it's pretty sad that the future centers of the NBA in Oden and Bynum will never fully reach their potentional because of injuries.
ya its sad to see great young players get hurt so often. But i guess the lakers dont' really need him in the first few months of the season. they prob will still hold on to the top 3-4 spot in the west. then in the second half to have bynam back healthy.
Lakers will be top seed regardless IMO, look at their soft schedule early on. Only potential threat is Utah first 20 gms.
No, after he's done with the Lakers some idiot GM will give him the max for like 6 years. He'll do nothing but be injured the whole time, then the owner will complain he's losing revenue and push to change the CBA because the owner doesn't want to suffer for his mistake. Look for Bynum to sign with toronto or minnesota.
dude is injury prone. all he needs to do is stay healthy to play defense and rebound. forget the offense.
As long as they have Kobe, they will be fine. Bynum, in my opinion, is never going to measure up to the expectations. He's not a bust, but he's nothing special. Certainly, he's not Kwame Brown, but he doesn't scare me.
http://www.nba.com/2010/news/featur...09/28/andrew-bynum/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1 Article on nba.com stats that he could be back earlier if he did not opt to go to the world cup and stayed home for surgery. If that is true, I would be pissed off if I were a lakers fan.
I doubt Bynum likes Kobe or kobe likes Bynum all the while. Remembered Kobe whined to some fans about not trading Bynum for kidd?
You are being payed millions to get ready to play basketball, but you dont care and go travel, instead of rehabing to get ready.
and now you know why Kobe wasn't hesitant for a Kidd for a Bynum swap. Lets not forget during the 08 season when he got injured, he was seen partying in the playboy mansion carrying women in his shoulders...obviously his knees can hold up then
Kobe's no MJ, but after reading that article I feel that it's really shameful that Bynum should be paid so much on the house that Kobe and Gasol built. If Kobe handles this the way I think he will, I have to say that I will have found serious respect for him due to the way that he makes sure that other players stay accountable.
Had Lakers traded Bynum for Kidd, they were gonna win in 09 anyway. And very good odds to win in 08 and 10 with Kidd providing playing making, defense and 3pt shooting. Bynum was posting 6.9 rb and 8.6 ppg in 2010 playoff, and that's his best one already. Kidd can give you those number along with 10 assists.
Naw, the one thing that sets the Lakers apart from the rest of the league, apart from Kobe is their size. Having Bynum in the lineup makes the Lakers start another 7 footer at power foward.
