How old is this kid 19? He is going to be a star, plays within himself, doesn't make mistakes and look at this line. Most impressive thing about his line tonight 1 TO, 2 PF and 5 assists. Maybe we should have gotten Kareem to coach Yao. 7-11 4-5 0-0 3 6 9 5 0 0 1 2 18
It would be more impressive if it wasn't against the Suns. With Amare hurt they don't have anyone who can guard anyone over 6'7".
hahahaha, always happy to see sun lose. Teams like suns will never be able to do well in playoffs. They are just so one dimensional.
to the Bynum naysayers - Andrew has one thing to say Yo Mother. 18, 9 and 5. glad i signed him to my fantasy team.
granted they beat the 6 and 7 seeds to get there, but weren't they in the conference finals last year? and the year before?
The thing about Bynum that impresses me the most is how foundamentally sound he is in the post. Most players that come into the league directly from high school have no foot work whatever in the post. Bynum, on the other hand, looks quite refined with his post moves and is surprisingly good at passing out of double teams. This kid just turned 19 years old. If he keeps this up, he'll be a top five center in the league before the end of the season (after all, how many pure centers are there left). The Lakers may have found their replacement for Shaq after all.
Damn! If Bynum is legit I think this moves the Lakers firmly into a playoff spot. Is it possible for every WC playoff team have 50 or more wins?
I picked him up for my fantasy basketball team. I hope he can blow up his stats for a few more games, will then trade him to someone who actually believes he will keep it up the whole season...
I didn't count on much from Bynum at all this season. If he's ready for prime time, then I've got to change my opinion about the Lakers. I'm still not convinced yet because the Suns were so awful on defense last night.
not to derail the thread but lamar played really well last night. Do you think kobe would ever defer to him and let the offence start with geting the ball to lamar in the post? If they played a inside out type of game i think that would work very well for the lakers.
last night was abuse towards suns by lakers, and I hope every team took notice. The lakers had odom, bynum, the radman and evans all looking good out there last night. And if anything's gonna light kwame's fire, i'd bet it's bynum kicking some arse. These lakers have a big solid deep front court, and I'm very impressed. maybe a little more scared of them than i was before. bynum still looks a long way off from a fine tuned machine, but he shows a lot of heart and hustle, and that'll get him far.
He dropped 23 pts 7 reb 5 assists on Thursday against the Nuggets. I would assume it was Nene and Kenyon Martin guarding him, since Najera and Camby sat. Even if he doesn't get any scoring opportunities, he is a great passer to get 5 assists in 2 seperate games. He'll be great for pulling down them rebounds and passing them for an assist or the start of a fast break.
