He's improved this season but let's wait a while. Last year he started well and tailed off big time. If that doesn't happen again, he's taken another step. If he plays his best ball the last 20-30 games of the season, then the doubters will be silenced.
Wasnt he the youngest EVER in the league or close to it? Like all players drafted in their teens, very RAW and maturity might be an issue. For such a big guy you can just see it on his face that he's not "grown" into a mature man yet. Of the previously drafted teenager crop, he's passed up a lot of those players already. Whats Travis Outlaw or Sebastian Telfair really done? Bynum did have high bust potential about him so its a credit to his development
He's a rarity in the NBA anymore. A seven footer with legitimate post moves and nice footwork. The best part is he has great coaching and just turned 20-years-old. He'll be a 20/10 player for somebody.
I would say he's more than an alright player (a double-double in 25 mpg is impressive), but you're right, he doesn't play with any passion or intensity. The only time I've seen that sort of stuff from him was when he first went up against Shaq his rookie year in LA: <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bPRqhNK6g6g&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bPRqhNK6g6g&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> I have a feeling though he's going to turn out to be a real good player.
In the first half tonight, Bynum looked like a scared little kitten against Howard. Maybe it's because he got two of his shots stuffed early. It's impressive the Magic lead by 8 despite Kobe going off and Howard having to sit down because of a very bad foul call. If the Magic win this game, I'll ride their bandwagon for a while.
