I'm pretty sure he's looking for more guaranteed money, those guys got 30 million plus of guaranteed money and AJ got 15.

He probably knows good and well it will be difficult to play at the same level as he has thru his career so far up to 2015 and it will be easy for the Texans to make a cut then.

As everyone else, I say pay him.

I know what you were referring to but you ignored the real money. NFL is all about the guaranteed money right?

Yes, all we need is for Matt Schaub to get injured and for Mario Williams to retire b/c of plantar faciatis and we'll be set to draft Jake Locker with the number 1 overall pick in 2011.

he will be a top 20-30 at his position when its all done. the dude will never even sniff any type of all time best debate. ochocinco's numbers have probably been better then his. andre's got 42 career touchdowns, moss had 23 in one season.

base per year salary doesn't mean much. I think AJ wants them to guarantee him more money which I agree with. He deserves it and football players have a small window to make as much money as possible.

If we're basing this on stats he should have a $100 million dollar signing bonus just for accumulating the stats he has with the teams he's had.

He shouldn't have signed the contract then, right?

I was wondering if a team has ever demanded to re-negotiate the terms of the contract after their player ends up being a disappointment? I can think of a ton of cases where it would be justified. I see Andre's argument for reworking his deal in light of his performance, but shouldn't it work both ways?

    Just pondering.

Is it his fault that someone else got twice as much money guaranteed a year later? Andre better get his.

It's called a cut. Easily done by x team to y player.

while i will agree with that, and believe me, he should get whatever he wants...it does suck that this has to be addressed now because he was the one who didnt negotiate well at the start of the current contract.

whatever they do, it would be nice to restructure the deal to lighten the cap hit in the upcoming seasons.

Oh I do agree that he didn't negotiate a good contract to begin with. Has his uncle always been the one representing him? Maybe he should find another agent.

He never held out and I can't think of a Cowboys player who has done roids. The Texans have been in more trouble since. Remember when Jacoby Jones choked his pregnant GF and Antwan Peek not paying child support.

Who needs roids when Michael Irvin throws cocaine parties?
