That was some kind of shot. "Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good".

    Old Man River strikes again.

did you guys know that portland offered miller for battier this year and morey said no. because we have brooks. we could have kept batum and use the next years pick on casspi which we traded for artest. basically we traded batum and casspi for a 1 yr artest. but atleast it gave us a shot at 2nd round right?

As much as it sucks to have missed out on Casspi + Batum, things are always easier to see hindsight.

We took a shot at a deal (Artest), and it was successful in my book, and that's something to certainly be happy about.

And at least the decision didn't set the franchise back years, I.E. a signing like Brand's or Arenas'.

Oh my goodness, didn't see that coming at all.. Didn't think he had it in him. And it seems a lot of them were midrange jumpshots too, I would've thought he would have to get most of them from the free throw line.

Everyone always comments on needing to shoot from outside. Which is a key attribute, but what about hitting all other other shots on the court? Can someone say really he "coulda" had 56 if he was a good shooter?

He has a 7'1'' wingspan with very good lateral quickness.

Or, It gets the Mavs get more desperate to make a move to improve. And they start working the phones more. Cuban is like the league vice commissioner. What Cuban wants, Cuban gets.

Nobody wants to help Cuban. And if Philly isn't as interested in that expiring contract as they say they aren't, than Dallas doesn't have anything Philly or aanybody else would want. Josh Howard's value took a major hit tonight.

What makes anyone think we would have taken Batum if we were keeping the pick? I don't remember anyone talking about taking him during that draft (although no one mentioned Brooks either).

I watched him, along side Keith Van Horn, lead the Utah Utes to the NCAA championship game way back in the day...
