I hope we keep Kubiak as our HC.

So your position is that the 3-4 can only be run with a top-tier first round pick at DE? Weird how so many teams have success at it without that, no?

If we are talking about being an elite 3-4 team, I agree it will be very hard to get the players we need in one offseason. Guess what though? To be an elite 4-3 team, this team STILL needs to draft studs.

People are acting like we are a good 4-3 defense and switching to a 3-4 would kill momentum. The fact is our front line is a non-factor in the majority of our games. So if we bring in a 3-4 coach, draft a pass rusher who's only average, at getting to the QB, guess what? We got better!

I blame 2 loses on the coach the rest on the players. we'd be in the playoffs right now if the players hawd executed. not saying kubiak doesnt make r****ded calls....but 5 loses attributed to players execution. 2 of those loses to an undefeated team.

    its an all around problem.

No surprise that AJ wouldn't rock the boat as that's never been his MO.

I think you guys are misunderstanding me. I'm not saying that Andre is the type of player to CARE about his personal stats....I'm just saying that UNDER KUBIAK, he has flourished, so why would he WANT a coaching change?? It's clear that he believes that Kubiak can win, so why would HE, of all players, DESIRE a coaching change. That's all I'm saying.

    Want something simple...

    go look at the stats...

    Offense pts = 14th
    Def. yards = 16th...

AVERAGE team...thats what we are...average ass team with average ass talent

I would say average team with above average talent. Granted, 4of our key offensive players are out hurt(2 OL, TE, RB) but our defense is near top 10, at least personel wise. I can without a doubt say that next year our D will be a lot better. Sadly I cant say the same about our offense. I mean, maybe the injured guys will help, but I'm just not so sure with the way this team is prepared each week.

Outside having a great group of linebackers, Mario, and Pollard, what exactly do the Texans have on defense? 3/4 of their secondary and 3/4 of their defensive line are not NFL caliber starters.

AJ can shine on the field with any head coach.
but with that logic you are using, I think Chris Brown wants Kubiak to stay, so he can play, because with other coach, he had been cut a while ago.

The weakest link I see for the Texans D is the interior DLine. The secondary is serviceable. Robinson appears to be in decline but Quin has stepped it up. Health is a big concern for our secondary.

Um, and what were the Texans before him? Before Kubiak, we would have loved for them to be mediocre. Give him another year. Who else are the Texan's going to be able to realistically acquire as a replacement who has experience and can possibly get the team to perform better?

Looks like some of the national guys are hearing that McNair isn't ready to move off of Kubiak (yet).

    Mike Lombardi - NFL.com and NationalFootballPost.com
Not sure who his sources are, but he's been on with John and Lance a lot in the mornings this year. Also, he wasn't too high on the Cushing pick (and he's a former Raider GM), so you never know how well-connected he is to the organization.

Peter King had this to say this week

I've been pretty vocal (via the written medium) around here that Kubiak should get another year to prove he's the guy. I see too much progress as far as personnel and scheming to call him an abject failure. Do I wish we would be 7-5 instead of 5-7 today, yes. When I factor in the time it took to get the defensive scheme down this year (and incorporating Pollard), losing OD (four straight losses since he went down), and losing any semblance of a credible running game, I can see why the team has regressed on the field. I think they'll fix most of these issues next season and add another playmaker or three (RB, DL, and secondary - not to mention OD).

I hope they win these next three games and give the fans a glimpse at what the future might hold for the the hometown team.

    Go Texans!

    1st Quarter
    Seattle - 15:00
SEA kicked off, A. Davis returned kickoff for 33 yards

    Houston - 14:44
1st-10, HOU36 14:44 M. Schaub passed to A. Johnson to the right for 64 yard touchdown. K. Brown made PAT

That is a sick nasty play-by-play.

if we were fans of any other team 4 years of mediorcrity means 4 years of sucking,
it doesnt matter where they were at before, it is about where they are supposed to be, this team should be in the lead for a wild card spot at the bare minimum, instead the texans are on the outside with too much needed by other teams to have a remote chance of making the playoffs,

who could the texans find to replace kubiak? i dont know there has been plenty of coaching hires that have worked out, my main point is that it's past due to have higher expectations
