    That's the point.

This team, even if it brings in a new coach who changes the defense, isn't going to be rebuilding. Talent is there.

I don't know about that. Where is our "talent" at RB, C, OG, DT, DE (besides Mario), or CB?

I would seriously argue that the only place we really have talent is at QB, WR, TE, LB. All other positions could use serious upgrades.

i hear ya. When I think rebuilding I think 2-14, though.

I don't think we're in a "let's ship everyone out and start over" mode...and i don't think a new coach would do that, either.

Oh, I agree. I think we're talented enough to win 9 or 10 games and maybe even a playoff game.

I just think that sometimes we Texan fans overrate the players on our team. Dunta is the perfect example. We all thought he was a future hall of famer (that's hyperbole) but the guy has never even made a Pro Bowl. He's never been anything special, even before this year.

We still have several multi-year starters who most likely wouldn't even see playing time on any good NFL teams. Like most of our O-line. Both of our DT's. 3/4ths of our DB's. (Dunta may be a nickleback somewhere else).

    Sorry for the rant.

To be fair, Dunta was having a pro-bowl type year (IMO) and his best year the year he hurt his knee. '05 and '06 weren't as good as promised from his first two years though, and obviously he blows now.

The Steelers should fire Mike Tomlin. He obviously can't coach adequately.

Yeah, he's just like Kubiak. It's not like he has a track record of any success.

You could pretty much argue that Tomlin has been more failsauce than Kubiak.

Took over a superbowl winner and ran them into the ground.

Or, he took over an 8-8 team and took them to the playoffs, then won a superbowl, and is having a down season.

He's proven he can coach at the highest level. Kubiak may be able to, but he has not remotely proven it.

I can see the parallel. I mean, besides the whole winning the Superbowl last year thing, it's totally the same situation...

I forget, how many years did it take for Parcells and Zimmer to turn the Cowboys into a 3-4 team? Was it 4? 5? I don't know, seems like maybe it was only 1, but it could have been 5. I dunno.

The key to changing to a 3-4 is 2 players. TWO. You need to get your nose tackle and a pass rusher. That's it. If you have competent people running your team that shouldn't take more than one draft and one FA period. Now, if you are a team that is going to burn draft picks on players that never amount to anything, then sure, it will take a long time.

AJ agrees with me if the team were doing there jobs Kubiak wouldn"t be on the hot sit.

Sounds like you forgot Tomlin was the coach of that superbowl winner.

Is Kubiak your brother or backwoods cousin or something? Because it seems like you'll say anything to make him look good.

Guys who can contain the run, rush the passer and cover backs are pretty rare.
They usually go pretty high in the first round.
