Should be "without a hall of fame player" in this case, since the H in 'hall' makes a consonant "hhh" sound.

First one I catch, only, Nimo.
    Why?

I'm trying to help Nimo here... in case he didn't know. I'm sure he appreciates it.

This guy is hung up on TDs. You have to understand the offenses player played in. Under Kubiak, RBs and TEs get the lion-share of redzone targets/rushes. Arian Foster has 45 RUSHING TDs since 2010. Andre is a Redzone decoy, which opens up the TEs and RBs.

Two quick points: 1) "dominant" WRs score TDs outside of the red zone; in fact, the WCO, which this is based on, is specifically designed to create space for WRs to catch passes on the run and make plays. That's what Jerry Rice did (scoring 38 TDs in 3 seasons with Shanahan as his OC, btw); 2) you're giving the voters much too much credit. They'll see a cluster of WRs with 900ish catches, 12,000ish yards and 90-ish TDs... and wonder why Andre Johnson, who played on far more losing teams than winning teams, scored so few TDs in his career.

Again, good or bad, *something* has to stand out.

funny you mention scoring TDs outside of the redzone because that's actually about the only time Dre gets his

Was gonna say the same thing.

The fade route, which is a WR's bread and butter in the redzone, is just not something we do that often, nor is it something AJ or Matt excel at.

As I've said - I hate these conversations because I wind up looking like I'm not a fan of Andre Johnson's - he's a tremendous WR.

I'm merely trying to get into the mindset of a HoF voter, who we know are mostly older, lazy sportswriters who have shown a strange fixation with rings and a blatant lack of respect for WRs. McClain, I'm sure, will make a lot of these points on AJ's behalf. But he'll nonetheless still be in a very crowded field that right now includes a lot of guys with very similiar careers who can't seem to get in.

I keep going back to it: if Cris Carter can't get in - and I'm sure his fans can make all sorts of intricate arguments about his merits - what makes Andre's case better?

The stats on that dude's career arc sure are strange.
