We'd need to find Battier a home though. Budinger needs more playing time and Iggy would take over as the defensive-minded 3.

I agree. Instead of single-mindedly calling for a "superstar" player, why not look at what the team already does well, and what it needs. If you add Melo, you add yet more offense and less defense. The team would have to pin its hopes on simply outscoring the opponent every night, and not holding the opponent's score down, which is a recipe for mediocrity. The Rockets need defense and an unselfish player who can pass at that position. Iguodala is that player. I disagree with those who say he adds just a few wins.

Now it should start to get a little interesting because the Sixers are 0-4. Morey needs to get at Phillie quick with everything we've got(within reason). They are probably looking to rebuild, so a couple of expirings with a pick or two would look pretty good right now.

He hasn't had a great preseason or first 4 games maybe he knows his time in Philly is over. I like the guy and he's good defender and a terrific dunker, a polar opposite of Martin. Wouldn't mind him either.

Agreed. NOW is the right time to tempt them with a trade for Iggy. I always liked his game.

I was all about getting Melo, but it just simply doesnt seem like we have a chance since all he wants is NY, Iggy would be a perfect fit imo and if we could somehow add a superstar ala CP3 that would make us contenders

    Paul
    Martin
    Iggy
    Scola
    Yao

forget a deeep bench we need stars!

He is so young, and im sure that Philly will take our 1st rounders, because if turner is the future, all they need to surround him with is good role players, so position isnt THAT big of a factor for those knicks picks.

So the 76'ers and Iggy are now 0-4 with loss to the Wiz....

I wonder if they are becoming more open to a TRADE ???

I think if they trade him now, they give their young back court more minutes and opportunity to grow for the future. This should make Iggy more expendable. I did notice that in their OT loss, Iggy didn't DEMAND the ball in the closing minutes/seconds. Not entirely sure if this was decision making on the part of Turner and Williams (who were both ballin') or that Iggy is not as demanding or clutch as people seem to believe.

Nonetheless, we NEED his skill set on this team. I think at the right price he could be a steal.

    Either:

    Battier + Jefferies + 1rd pick + 2rd pick
(this gives them MAJOR cap relief plus a brighter future to help build young talent)

    or

    Jefferies + JT + Patterson + 2rd pick + 1rd pick

I really think we should also try to go after J.Smith from ATL so I wouldn't give Phila all of our assets to make this trade. ATL needs cap relief and probly picks, but they also want a BIG. Unfortunately we dont have a BIG to give but we could dangle Hill's "potential" plus remaining assets and hope they bite on it.

    J.Smith = Battier/Jefferies + Hill + 2rd pick

    NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN !!!

The Pacers are BUILDING AROUND HIM, Collison, George & Hiebert. Quite frankly thats not too bad of a young core.

GETTING GRANGER IS A PIPE DREAM. There are no indications that he wants out or that the team is shopping him. He is there to stay, Larry Bird loves him.

I think they should try to go get Iggy 1st, then go get Melo 2nd. Jeffries, battier, martin, patterson or hill, and the picks in some form or fashion. Jeffries, taylor, patterson and a pick for iggy and martin, battier, and a pick for melo.

Iggy will definitely gives us some toughness in the starting lineup. Right now, we are soft as pudding with Martin, Brooks and an aging Battier.

Just wait, if we are fortunate to swing a trade for Iggy, those who are saying "pass" will be the first to say they were wrong.

Dude might not be a superstar like Melo, but he is rock solid in all facets of the game.

If the Rockets included their draft picks that teams want, who loses in this?

ATL needs to get some cap relief and picks. J.Smith seems to be the "odd man out" on ATL's roster in regards to getting paid. Houston could use their Trade Exception from Ariza trade to help ATL financially.

PHI is "looking to the future" and seems to be open to moving Iggy to give their young backcourt an opportunity to grow. They need a new beginning with expiring contracts, young talent, and picks.

The Rockets get younger, tougher, athletic, and significantly improve defensively, espically in the areas of rebounding and shot blocking.

Iggy has been in this league for 6 years. He played every single game in 5 of those seasons, and missed only 6 games in one season (and he played 40 mins in that season). The only other player I know who is even more rock solid than Iggy is Dwight Howard, who missed only 3 games in 6 years, but Iggy averages 3 more minutes than Dwight Howard in their career.

Iggy is a jack of all trades. The fact that he only missed 6 games in 6 years should be a huge plus to any Rocket fans out there.

Especially when you have impact players who are some of the most injury prone people in the league (Yao, Martin, Lowry)

All good points in respect to Iggy, guys.

Now, Morey needs to use the assets that he has been collecting and improve this team.
