who can we give Philly that is a defender/rebounder big man? nobody wants undersized Chuck Hayes and we just signed Dampier. All we can really offer is: expirings, picks and some young talent (Hill, Budinger, etc.). Albeit a good package, it doesn't satisfy their need and with that said I hope they don't get what they need and trade to rebuild ;) .

Depends, I suppose, on whether Philly thinks they'll get an elite big man out of the deal.

If they want cap relief and a young "energy" big man, Jordan Hill might fit the bill. But there'd obviously be more parts and pieces thrown back and forth than Hill and Iggy.

I don't know, I think Pat Pat could fit that bill. Pat and Bud with the expirings of Jeffries and Battier could work.

The problem with Iggy is his contract. He would be a lovely fit on our squad, especially with our need for a rangy wing defender (he's one of the best in the league). And he wouldn't have to be THE MAN, which is a plus for his somewhat limited offensive skill set. Yet still, he's insanely overpaid.

The thing with Iggy is that he is a 2nd or 3rd tier star who's a great 2nd or 3rd option on a championship squad.

You need to surround him with at least another or 2 top dogs.

We already have a bunch of role players, but Iggy isn't even paid like one. He's getting paid like a 1st tier star.

While I would like to have him, he isn't the missing piece to the puzzle.

On offense, he could be the third or fourth option here. Behind AB and Martin, at least, and behind Yao when he's in.

If we're going to make a run this year, which is within the realm of possibility, we probably need to reach some time. Otherwise, we just keep going, with DM incrementally improving the Rox with every trade, waiting for that really wonderful trade, which might be two years off.

Not Bud. We'll need him to back up Iguodala.

IMO Iguodala would be a better option than Melo. As a matter of fact he would be the best option. With Melo we would be adding to our problem of not having defense in our starting line-up.

Iggy is a role player while Melo is a superstar.

True, Melo is a superstar, but we need Iguodala more than we need him. We have all the scorers we need. Now we just need a defensive player. Besides, Melo is not coming to Houston!!

Melo is a giant douche bag. And on the Rockets squad he'd be about as useless as an ******* on my elbow. that's right, an ass hole on my elbow.

And by that I meant he'd do nothing to help the rockets defense.

Jeffries, Hill, Taylor, 2011 first and 2012 first for Iggy

We don't lose Taylor for nothing. Hill isn't getting playing time and with Dampier coming in and Hayes moving to the same spot Hill will likely see even less. Philly gets valuable picks and salary cap relief via Jeffries contract.

    Brooks/Lowry/Ish
    Martin/Lee/Iggy
    Iggy/Battier/Bud
    Scola/Hayes/Patterson
    Yao/Miller/Dampier

That would be reasonable, were Iggy's salary not a big negative. It also depends on what the Rox think Hill's potential is.
