It seems tome these guys are expendable because as long as Chuck Hayes, Scola, Yao, Jeffries are her they are not getting time in our lineup and waisting their talent anyways on the bench.

    Patrick Patterson
    Hill

Then this guy is the guy being replaced- Shane Battier

These will be useless once Carmelo changes address to the Knicks which is almost certain.---New York Knicks draft pick and swap.

Thats the trade deal Morey is looking at. its obvious because Adelman gives him no choice. He wont use Hill anytime soon, Rookies dont play so Patterson is out for the season. Battier sucks. Knicks picks about to be useless.

    Trade package?
    Jordan Hill
    Patrick Patterson for ????????????
    Battier
    Knicks pick and swap

Its obvious what our package should be now. Rick made it obvious. GM Morey get'r done.

These are just excess right now. No use in keeping Hill. He wont be used. Patrick Patterson wont be used. Knicks picks about to become less valueable. Battier the position of need. All of that for Iggy. Maybe our own draft pick thrown in as well.

Thats gonna be the worst wing defending rotation with Budinger and Marting roasted every time we play lakers or celtics or any team with a player that doesnt fail at offence in the 2 spot or 3 spot. Battier/Jefferies/Hill or Pat + Pick for Iggy

I am on the AI bandwagon. His contract really is not that bad and he is a good defender. I am all about us upgrading at the three, but that upgrade has to come in a player that is also a good to great defender. Unless Martin or Brooks is swapped out with a better defender.

But I am intrigued with the idea of Brooks/Martin/Iguadola trio.

Iggy is a really a good passer. Wont draw a double all the time, but will penetrate and create for others. Philly is going to want a lot and we need to pay up.

Hill+Jeffries+Battier+2 first rounders sounds fair to me.

What about him being such a defensive-stopper on Kobe and being clutch from the corner 3-ball---yeah, he can't do that any longer...but we have karaoke and his articulate post-game talk!

What about Granger? Perhaps he's more available?

Trading for Collison, previous reluctance to trade when they were much worse, and capspace this upcoming free agency, likely means they'll keep on with him this season and next.

    Gotcha, thanks.
So is Iguadola our likeliest target? I really do like him, but what would we have to give up to obtain him?

Is there no other small forward we can target?

If Melo even has the slightest hint that he wants to come to houston then our package to Denver is superior by far, problem is he wants NY, and isnt a great defender so if we run Brooks/Martin/Melo our Backcourt defense would be atrocious, so im for Brooks getting shipped for Melo in a package.

I don't see what people see in Iggy, he's not a winner, leader, or game changer.....IMHO.

Iggy is not taking you to the promise land.

Everyone says we need super-stars. Well Iggy isn't one.

    On a contender hes a glorified role-player.

The posters now wanting iggy are seemingly coming to the conclusion about balanced players. Iggy was a better fit last year when people were drooling over martin and his effeciency. They have martin and brooks, but they need the iggy type as a 3 and heres why.

Iggy i s a good ball handler and decision maker in the mold of tracy. Now before the ball stopper posters come out, let me tell you why thats not a bad idea. At times during the game, you want brooks off the ball, but not out the game. If you bring in lowry, that means martin is coming out. Well, now you have taken out one of your best offensive options and getting smaller. With iggy, the rockets wouldnt have to do that.Iggy would be the pg like christie would do in sacramento. Not to mention he plays every game and can defend his position.

I think the Rockets had him in their sights as well, but obviously Philly was asking for a lot more than what they had to give up to get Martin.

What do you think it would have taken?

I dont know, but he has more value through the league than martin had. I also know the rockets offered scola, but the kings wanted landry. These things are tricky and i preferred the butler/haywood deal over the martin deal, but thats not a big deal. Its going to take a combination of players and picks to get iggy unless you start the offer with martin.

If the Rockets add Dampier, they'll be overloaded at PF/C. Maybe Martin + Hill or Patterson for Iguodala?

    Then we've got:

    PG - Brooks, Lowry
    SG - Lee, Budinger
    SF - Iguodala, Battier
    PF - Scola, Hayes, Jeffries
    C - Yao, Miller/Dampier

No way do you trade Martin for Iguodala.

Only way you trade Martin is if you get back someone like Melo.

Budinger + Hill + Jeffries + Taylor + picks for Iguodala.

Still got Brooks and Battier for another trade.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Lee
    Iguodala/Battier
    Scola/Hayes
    Yao/Miller/Dampier

Martin looks really good and maybe he has a breakout year. But the Rockets right now are dealing with a huge offense-defense imbalance. Iguodala is one of the best 2-way player in the league, he's awesome in transition, and he'd be shoring up a position of weakness for the Rockets (SF). The trade for Lee made Martin expendable.

If we still had Ariza instead of Lee, I'd be hesitant to trade for Iguodala. Lee-Iguodala is a much better combination on the wings than Ariza-Iguodala.
