From what I've seen so far, Iggy is someone you can throw the ball to in the 4th Quarter and let him Iso. Ive seen plenty of gamewinners from him, also, being a freakish athlete and good defender, he'd get alot of fastbreak dunks playing in the passing lanes for us. Rightnow ,anything is better than Battier and Bud.

the problem i see in Iggy is that our SF position always become a spot up shooter..that's what happened to Ariza and he seemed not fit for our offense..

I think you got it backwards. Ariza was a spot up shooter before he came to the Rockets and then Adelman forced him to try to do too much when he came here. The best thing for the Rockets was for Ariza to be limited to spot up shooting and slashing when we acquired Kevin Martin.

Iguodala can be a spot up shooter and a slasher but when he slashes he has the court vision to pass the ball to the open man and he does not tend to over dribble.

at least iggy can dribble a ball, ariza always looked like a 3-yr old dribbling a basketball for the first time every time he tried to be superstar

When you add 16ppg/6reb/5assist to your line up without giving up much yes.

What you are really trying to say is:

    Does Iggy have intangibles?

Iggy may not be a 'superstar', but he is a border-line All-Star imo a 2nd tier 'star'

One possibility: we have the stuff to make 2-3 trades like this in quick succession. For instance, we could certainly make the Cousin and Iguodala trades happen tomorrow. And, we could be a player in the Melo trade, whether or not we are actually the team that gets him.

It could be that DM needs to get a player from one trade to make the next happen, or that he doesn't want a lower-priority trade screwing up a higher-priority one. For instance, he wouldn't want to send the picks to Philly, only to find that he needs one or two of them for a Melo trade.

And of course, there's December 15...

Of all the proposed trades I've seen in the GARM the past several months, Igoudala seems to make the most sense for the Rockets. This guy has the intensity that seems to be missing this year that perhaps Landry, Artest, and Ariza (and to certain extent Lowry) brought in the past. We need Intensity in Ten Cities! Make it happen DM!

Ummm Duh!! He is not much worse than battier on defense however he is younger, quicker more athletic, better court vision, scores more, plays more aggressive and he is clutch. He is even more than what we wanted Ariza to be. He is like Lebron-lite without the drama.

The Sixers beat the Blazers tonight 88-79 and Iggy was the only player on his team to log 40+ minutes.

He only had to score 7pts on 4 shots to get the win. He led his team in rebounding with 7 and also had 3 assists and 2 steals.

What does this mean? He must have intangibles.

Evan Turner had 1 point in 20 minutes on 0-4 shooting.

More importantly for the Rockets, he's a very good defender.

As long as we don't include a first round pick im all for it. And yes Iggy is a HUGE upgrade over Chase or Battier.

Hate to say it but if trading Chase and possibly Battier with some draft picks meant we got Igoudala, why the hell not?

He's 26 years old, proven, and a much better defender than what we have on the roster.

I've always been in favor for bringing Iggy to Houston... I even preferred to have Iggy over Martin last year. The problem that the Rockets Mgmt may run into is Philly may not wanna deal Iggy without dealing Elton Brand.

Elton Brand is having a pretty decent season averaging 16ppg, 8rpg, 1.2bpg, and 1.5spg in only 33mpg. He's been known to be a an above average defensive big, can clog the paint, rebound and block shots. He was the "go-to" guy when he played for the CLippers.

I wouldnt mind parting ways with Scola to bring in Elton Brand, even with his ridiculous contract. At this point, if we are "all-in'" this season, then lets go out and make these happen.

This line-up would instantly make us one of the best defensive teams even with Martin's deficiencies on defense, along with 3 go-to guys down the stretch - Yao and Brand in the post, and Iggy along the perimeter. You can bring Brooks off the bench to provide instant offense and play the "Jason Terry" role.

The problem we have right now is that no body on this team can create for themselves. In the past, we had McGrady to create for others and himself. Iggy, while not a SuperStar, can create his own shots and create for others.

    Yao/Miller
    Brand/Hill/Hayes
    Iguodala/*Filler*
    Martin/*Filler*
    Lowry/Brooks
