Because they are paying their best player a lot of money to be on one of the worst teams in the league the past two seasons. They aren't going anywhere, so getting back expirings, young talent, and picks is ideal for them to continue rebuilding around Holiday and Turner.
It's not so much the game. It's the games being lost and no end in sight. It's also them wanting to start the rebuilding early(hopefully).
I don't think Iguodala gets moved before December 15th. By waiting Philadelphia will give themselves more options in regards to what players are available to take back. Also most teams will have the flexibility to up their offers for his services, so it's in their best interest to wait until then.
iggy is trash. supporters for an iggy trade are wrong like supporters for caron were/are wrong. dallas fans absolutely hate caron.
Iguadola is noticeably better that Caron Butler. If you bring on Iggy, you have to balance him out by keeping Martin and Brooks to start alongside him IMO. So, if Philly would take Budinger+Hill+2012 first rounder+Jeffries I would glady take it. Maybe even two first rounders.
smh bringing in iggy does nothing for our team.... 14-16mil/yr for 2 more years? no thank you, he's trash.
no, im not high yet. overpaid is the same as trash to me. are YOU high? he's not "ridiculously" good. he wont improve this team significantly or is a key piece in a championship team... definitely not at his salary. any point you make in favor of trading for iggy is moot, imo, because of his salary.
We are barely losing these games that we have lost. Adding Iggy or Jackson would definitely put us over the hump.
wow bro, where did i say that? way to put words into my mouth. whether or not someone is overpaid is generally a personal opinion. i didnt say lowry or scola was overpaid did i? smh, some posters overreact/misconstrue/just plain cant comprehend.
but are you satisfied with just getting over the "hump"? im not, we should build this team for a championship and getting over a hump does nothing. id rather us start in a hole and build towards a championship than get over a hump and stay in mediocrity forever.
I think there are only two possibly obtainable players that would make this team a contender.... and neither one of them is Iggy.
Melo is definitely one of them. The other one is Gerald Wallace. Not that I think Charlotte is looking to move him or will ultimately move him, but if things continue to go the way they have for that team, I think it's a possibility. More of one than someone like, say, Danny Granger.
