Announcing your sexuality seems like it is something people should no longer feel the need to do. Not only that, it also seems like it is something the media should no longer feel the need to report on.
The gif brought back some great Vincent Price memories, he seemed to be everywhere and on everything. He was the Neil Patrick Harris of my childhood. :grin:
How is this news? I thought this was well known and he stated ths before. Or has he never officially announced it?
Anderson cooper has always been one of the few news anchors i can tolerate. I feel he is pretty good at s being neutral in most cases and just reporting the news. Always knew he was gay so this isnt really any shock to me. Kinda stupid that he has to declare his sexual preference, who cares about that? It isnt like hes dressed like a gay pride float guy and doing the cha cha when announcing obamas "new" views on gay marriage. That said, the fact that he has the option to "blend in" and hide his sexual preferrence from some people just underscores what a big difference the gay movement is from the civil rights movement. Equating the two is a joke and a hugely offensive insult to african americans who had to live through jim crow. Yeah I said it.

I see why he felt the need to make this a public statement then. It's not narcissism or self-promotion. It's kind of sad commentary on our society that we're not to a point yet that this would be considered unnecessary.
