Huh. He probably could have gotten more money, not that he was necessarily worth it. How many F/Cs does New Orleans have now? West Brown Traylor Haston Rooks Magloire Anderson George Lynch plays a little bit of the 4 too. They've been stockpiling bigs for a while.
This is a good move for the Hornets. They are in the West now and they need as many Bigs as they can get. Plus the Hornets will probably lose Tractor Traylor through FA so they need a backup PF/C. I wouldn't count on Lynch and West to play significant PF minutes in the western conference with the bigger PFs. So getting Anderson was probably a good move. And they probably got him at a cheap price. Smart move for NO. They see the Nuggets loading up at the front court positions and know that they wont keep their other Bigs so they swoop in and take a player in Anderson that suddenly isnt as important to Denver anymore.
sean rooks was traded at the deadline to the magic for shammond williams. Also, Haston (a first round bust) was cut during last season.
hornets are having a good offseason. get mo pete on the perimeter, and they add athleticism inside. they needed youth in the worst way, and with these 2 young pros theyve added a nice batch of minutes.
If you guys think Andersen's gonna be one of the players that push them over the edge, you're wrong. Andersen is a decent role player, when you're playing at home and he's not a part of the offense. Bzdelik was afraid to play him on the road because he is a player who thrives off of the crowd. Pure energy, nothing else.
DID HE GRADUATE??? Andersen is as sharp as a wet bag of hair. I worked with him at the YMCA in Conroe--summer of 99. He was out of eligibility because of his grades and talking about Europe ball... He played in the Y summer league with the local ballaz and College kids--dude could FLY compared to everyone on the court, it was sick. We would party with him at Sam Houston and around Houston, he is a first-rate jerk though...
