I used to be a Jayhawk fan, used to live in KC. So, I am familiar with where Rush went to high school. Been gone for many years, so I really don't follow the hawks that much anymore. I did see multiple games this year though, because they were top rated and once I saw them early, I could tell they were gonna be a contender.

It's interesting to me that I like CDR too but I view him almost exactly the way the other poster views Rush. I believe Rush is the headier more bball iq type player that can either get his shot or get the ball to the right player when he is covered. I also think that while CDR may be more athletic and appears to be a bit longer to me than Rush, I like Rush's intelligence on the defensive end better. I also think CDR will have problems if he's not getting his own shot. To me, it was evident in the championship game. I just feel like Rush has a more rounded game and can do more things on the court than CDR. In my opinion, CDR is more turnover prone and more prone to roll over when the pressure is on. I like Brandon's poise better. I think that too was evident in the championship game.

Watch this video of Rush and judge for yourself if he can handle.

I am not impressed with Rush. I don't think he can create and get decent shots in the NBA based on the way he lift and jump.

I could see Rush falling down to the 25th pick. He has more poise and is a better decision maker than CDR because of his experience and possibly higher IQ but if you surround him with good NBA defenders he is going to have problems creating his shot and could quite likely commit a lot of turnovers. CDR does turn over the ball more than him but his dribbling and ability to create his own shot and score in the post is much better.I feel he has genuine upside and is more likely to be a better NBA player than Rush and will go higher in the draft.
But again I'm no scout and I won't mind eating crow if Rush were to play well for the Rockets.

Any Tony Parkers in this draft? I remember that one year we drafted Eddie Griffin. I was soooooo Happy, I remember they were also talking about Parker and the Spurs. I thought, haha finally we out do the Spurs in something.... Well we all know the rest.

I do figure that it is possible to get a steal like that as long as you have good scouting. There seems to always be a player that makes it to the second round who everyone over looks who actually makes an impact. This year it was Landry. Who will it be this year. Can we nab that guy up? Who knows, the draft is a crapshoot.

I'm liking CDR, being 6.6 good handles, great slasher. He can create his own shots which is great. If he improves his defense and perimeter shooting. You start to have our scorer of the future in 3years.

I don't like Hibbert but if he could last until the 2nd round that would be a steal. He has to learn to use his body to takeover games. He doesnt have that coveted athleticism.

What about Bill Walker? Before his ACL injury he was wrecking at K-State. World class athlete, handles ball pretty well. He really played well eventhough overshadowed by Beasley and Mayo (in high school) so he can play with a star. Really started to come on in the middle of the year. I believe he is a sleeper

The one year we actually had a good pick (#8), we traded it away.

At #25, you'll find a decent player but no starters.

No offense to any CDR lovers, but I can't help but notice a very suspicious looking bandwagoning......especially right after the tourney....

MY take on CDR: He's a solid wing player, at least thats what it seems like right now. He's a decent-good slasher because of his creativeness and aggressiveness and quick first step. However, what scares scouts most about his ceiling is that he has a very poor frame (even though he has a long wingspan), rather narrow shoulders is the main cause of concern in regards to that. Also, his ball handling is shaky, although he does a neat spin move that he'll pull out occasionally. He finishes OK at the rim and has SOME explosiveness to help him. But most of his inside shots consists of very awkward and unconventional shots. This this can be a good thing or a very bad thing. Not sure how this will translate to the pros where there are athletic shot blockers waiting in the paint. And finally, to dispel some of the myths about CDR's athleticism-he's a GOOD athlete, but NOT a great one by any means.

So my take: He's a solid prospect if he would gain some muscle (which might hinder his quickness). But definitely first round.

I would try to trade up. This team is close to a championship.

He reminds me of Tashaun Prince in college. Although I feel he has a better first step than Tashaun did back in the day.

I think we should draft Zach Feinstein! :D

In all seriousness, I don't pay attention to college / high school prospects... so I wouldn't know anything about the guys y'all are talking about. But, I like a athletic wing man or a back-up center.

I'm really impressed by him. In all the games I watched he was a factor. He's got all the tools necessary to play in the NBA. If he improves his jumpshot I think he can be the next Josh Howard. I only watch the games, so I don't know anything about these off-court issues people are talking about.

That would be the greatest day ! I want Mike Miller on the Rockets more than any other NBA player ! Guy can flat out shoot and he's a hustler and doesn't take any s..t from anyone !

he cant handle. like i said, he can dribble, but in one on one situations, i think he's going to have trouble creating his own shot. CDR and Rush both had about the same amount of turnovers over their careers, but CDR had the ball in his hands alot more than Rush did. like i said, Rush will be a solid role player, but he's not what this team needs. CDR has a better offensive game than Rush, and that's what this team needs to take pressure off TMac. this team already has a high bball IQ, heady, defensive minded player who can hit open 3's. we need someone who adds another dimension to this team, and that's why i think CDR has a bigger impact on this team than Rush. i'm not saying CDR is the next TMac, but i think CDR gives TMac a better option on the offense than Rush because of his midrange game. if TMac has an off night, which he will, who would you rather have on the team then? CDR or Rush?

in a JVG offense, i'd probably take rush, but this aint no JVG offense anymore.

as for rolling over when the pressure's on, 22, 28, 25, 25 against kansas, ucla, texas, and mich st. respectively.

again, rush is a good player and he'll be a good role player like battier, but CDR has a much better offensive game.

I think that if Morey is able to trade the pick up, he will, by all means.

However, if Morey can't work his magic with the #25 pick being something higher, I truly believe that he will trade the pick, along with some expirings.
