you haven't been watching him. watch his 3s this season. looks like they would never hit the rim b/c the arch is so high on the ball and release. and his elevation is very low.

he admitted he watched tapes on his shot and noticed it. that's why he's shooting 40% on 3s this year.

That's it. Nig difference in his 3s. The arch, elevation has been great on his 3s. He is shooting them really, really well.

But I also belive he jumpes higher.

People are complaining. I specifically remember on the 1st and 2nd page people making comments like "he should've gone to the basket more" and "he just made a couple of jumpshots".

Let me ask you this. If this were any other player that came in during the 4th, scored 14 points in one quarter as part of a comeback win... you would be all over the guys nuts. Yet for some reason because its Tmac we have to find something negative.

In fact, when Von Wafer had the game he had where he had a game winning 3, I seem to remember a lot of people very happy about his performance.

And he DID shut people up. People keep talking about how crappy he's been playing, he comes out and plays a good game, thats the definition of shutting someone up. Thats what it means. When you can't talk **** about his game because he actually had a good game.

have yet to miss a game.. and have been watching him with equally great scrutiny as frustration.. and I haven't ever seen him shoot such nicely offensively flowing spot up open threes with as much ease and touch as he did this 4th.. roused not one ill reaction from me on each shot.. and that's just not been the norm for me this season..

will there be a stupid thread like this everytime Tracy gets 20pts when he gets on a hot streak? He didn't even had an impact on the game til the 4th... Stop kissing his ass!

that was the funniest post I've read in a long time.

however, I'm happy that tmac didn't shoot 4 of 12.

I will make a thread every time Tmac has a better than average game in a win for every thread that is made when Tmac has a less than average game in a loss.

If you havn't noticed, thats the point I'm trying to make. People make thread about Tmac having a bad game. Why can't I make a thread when he has a good game?

Why can't people just enjoy the win?

Until the 4th being the key word. Thats how the NBA works, you can suck ass for 3 quarters, have an amazing 4th and you are a hero. And it works the other way too. You can hit 90% of your shots in the first 3, go 0fer in the 4th and be a goat.

why can't people just hold onto their opinions about the team until the playoffs?

but hey, these guys just go crazy after every win or loss in the reg. season.

I will in general, at least about the team. I'm not going to call championship or call a bust before the All-star break or anything.

However, I wanted to make a thread about McGrady's performance. Can we at least agree that he had a good game today? And his performance was an integral part to our 4th quarter comeback? And in my original post I gave Yao a lot of credit because he was the guy that got Tmac open, but if he doesn't make the shots it doesn't matter.

If most of us can agree to both of those things, I've accomplished my goal for tonight. I won't force anyone to enjoy the win like I am, but just recognize the performance for what it is.

All I saw was TMAC shooting JUMPERS from +20 foot. Today was just a day that he actually made em. Doesnt change the fact that he is still a jumpshooting superstar which wont get us far when real defenses play us.

There is a Yao thread as well. I made the thread specifically about Tmac because he gets so much hate these days. But Yao had a good game, Brooks and Landry obviously had good games. Artest had a solid performance as well.

He has to shoot that jumpshot to set up his driving game to the basket. He can't go the the basket every single time.

As you said, he went off in the 4th quarter. How did he go off? he shot 5 jump shots in a row. Nothing was different and it did not setup his driving game (LOL) as he didnt attempt to drive in once. The main reason why he even had good attempts from 20+ foot was due to the double teams on Yao. So with all due respect, thank you Yao.

what did this exactly show to the doubters?

tmac can hit wide open 3 pointers? yao can dunk on scrub rookie centers?

ok, the wizards are what 1-9?

their coach, eddie jordan left his 'best' players on the bench too long when they had the league?

would the LAKERS or CELTICS fans get so excited about a beat down of crap team?

please dude. We didn't prove anything except that the Barkley and Yao commercial was popular.

    to the op -

    give mcgrady credit? yes.

this was his game and he brought the comeback alone? hmm, no. far from that.

kinda reminds me someone else in another thread crediting the wins after yao went down ALL to mcgrady.

I thought he had a average game being Tmac

I thought he had a decent game being on the recover that he is

But I didnt think he had a good game

I do however think if he can give us the same percentage and numbers as tonight CONSISTENTLY it will be a VERY GOOD thing.

tinman, you're too old as far as i can see.

for me, after all these years, i still want to be excited 82 to 100+ times each season, not just in the playoffs.
