Exactly. Since America voted, I think it's out of sympathy because those comics are so mean and rude to him yet he didn't do anything wrong. The way he handled those pricks around the house was very admirable and I think he won because of that alone.
Really?!? I didn't think that Rich guy was funny at all and I saw the whole series. Every time he performed, it was like he'd never been on stage before. I don't think I laughed once during his act.
You didn't laughed at Rich Voss but is always LOL from a mere mention of YoYao? Besides, it's all about relativity. Rich Voss might be crap, but he was the best crap out of that lot.
Rich is probably funnier naturally I think but he just tries too hard to be funny all the time and that was his downfall. I agree that his standup wasn't very good from what I saw. Dave was probably the funniest guy of the bunch IMO but too bad they all had to be such pricks.
I thought Ralphie May should have won. Dat was OK although his bit about his mom got old and it didnt seem he had much material since he did parts of his act over and over throughout the contest
And it all amounts to what? Dat won, ha ha! I love how he changed his hair to look "cooler" but it still looked pretty dumb.
Dat was on Jay Leno last night and did the same bits of material he did throughout the competition. Get some new material, quick
Ralphie was on the buzz this morning and he alluded to the show being rigged. He won 49 states, Dat won Cali. There were 5 standing ovations during the comics' performances. Did you ever see one? Me meither, they were edited out. Guess what, they were all for Ralphie. The producers had 4 months to edit this thing. They could shape the series to make anybody they wanted to win. By the way, Dat on Leno is perfect. They both suck. Dat has one joke that he stretches for 10 minutes. Wow you're Asain and you make fun of how your mom talks. Guess what? Margaret Cho called she wants you to give back the bit she did in 1991.
I'll drink to that. I caught the last part of his "act" last night during a Letterman commercial, of course. What a shock. He was talking about making fun of white people by saying "plane, car, boat" etc. That would be the fourth time he's used that joke on TV. Most stand up guys dream of being on Leno. You would think he would come up with some new material for such a big moment in his career...unless he just doesn't have any.
I was rooting for Dat, but I am disappointed by his rehashing of jokes so far. I like Rich Vos and I think Ralphie is funny, but annoying.
He's a COMIC! Dat was a freak. Very annoying, and he didn't say one funny thing the entire time. Save it for the stage? What is he, Celine Dion? You think Steve Francis refuses to shoot balled-up pieces of paper into a garbage can, because he "saves it for the court?" Now I know why I passed on watching reality shows in the past. People are idiots. They like crap. They want to watch a show about an Asian family running a nail salon. No stereotypes there. Have fun, America, see you at the mall!
Well, I'm watching the marathon on CC and Rich still hasn't made me laugh once. The guy Dat just terminated was pretty funny. The guy talking about his Escort GT. Dave I think was his name? Dat did yet another bit on his mom. Dave should have won that one.
We get the Pacific feed here in Colorado, so we're a few hours behind you. I just saw the Rob vs Ralphie showdown. Both of those deserved to win. Rob was hilarious. Dave was the best however.
To be fair to Dat, he's only been in comedy for like 1-2 years. Of course, the other comedians who have been in comedy for like 15-20 years are going to have more material than him. Hopefully as he gains more experience, he can become a more versatile comic.
I'm asian, I also rooted for Dat cuz he had that whole underdog thing going for him but I have to say the person that should've won was Ralphie, that dude was funny. Hopefully Dat improve.
I saw Dat's performance on Leno, and I have to say, he sucked. I was begging for Kiki Shepard to make her entrance and the clown to sweep his arse off stage.
I liked Dat from the beginning. He's the only one that made me consistently laugh. Give Dat props, he won TWO head-to-head challenges and then won the nationwide vote. Guys like Rich Voss and Tess didn't even have to go head-to-head ever. Ralphie's last stand-up sucked IMO. It was more of a political rant than a comedy routine. He just kept screaming "I want cheap gas! I want cheap gas! Light 'em up!" If he had more jokes throwin in maybe he would have won.
