Felipe Alou would be sweet but they probably won't put up the cash so they'll settle on a cheapie like Tony Pena. I'd like to see Joe Morgan show us all how managing is done. Joe Morgan for 2003!

tony pena might come cheap, but I'm betting he'll be an amazing major league manager.

plus, felipe might cost a little more, but then again, his son might agree to lower his price a little if his dad were managing the team. . .

    who knows?

I don't think dierker blew today's game [lugo did], but I do think it's time for dierker to go.

the 'stros just need a new mentality.

It really doesn’t matter if Joe Torre, Marge Schott, or Carrot Top manages the Stros, they just will never win a playoff series. Some teams are just like that. This is a club that basically had a Dream Team in 98 [with Randy Johnson, a stacked offense, an elite bullpen, and homefield advantage in Round One] and STILL couldn’t advance. If they can’t win under those circumstances, then forget it; they are just a team that is not made for playoff success. And that’s nothing to be ashamed about. I’m happy that they made the playoffs this year and will be thrilled if they steal a win in Atl to avoid a sweep.

    GO ASTROS!!!

He could've put a TD on OU, and he could've called for Dotel.

Always remember to ask yourself, WWMD.

it's funny to picture each of these candidates actually sitting in the dugout at Enron, putting the hit-and-run on, wearing the Astros uni. . .

especially choices 4-7. and that other guy with the "special" catcher's cup.

Damn we might actually score negative runs in the playoffs with him at the helm.

I don't care who manages as long as they understand one thing : Octavio Dotel > Mike Jackson

Who is this Write-in Candidate, and how come he doesn't have the job already?

I'm just waiting on a bunch of people to post how Simms deserves the job even though he's shown nothing to prove that.

I don't think it's a matter of convincing Moises to stay, I think it's a matter of convincing the Astros to bring him back.
