Wait a second.... There are black people in Chicago???? Man, that's what I love about this BBS. You learn something new every single day!
Bill Maher had a great take on all of this... "They've been having a lot of trouble over at Illinois finding a Republican candidate to go up against Barack Obama there. People love that guy. Well, they think they've finally found one. He is our old friend, Alan Keyes, the African American firebrand conservative preacher. The only problem is, Keyes lives in Maryland. It's starting to look bad for Republicans. First, they couldn't find Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan, then they couldn't find weapons in Iraq. Now they can't find a black person in Chicago!"
Maher just reported that David Aldridge is reporting that the Rockets are in trade talks with Orlando for Tracy McGrady.
He was interviewed on NPR yesterday. He stood by his criticism of Hillary Clinton and explained why it was different from his candidacy: that Clinton chose NY as a pawn to her own political aspirations, whereas the Illinois Republicans had a need and approached him about a position that does not serve his political aspirations. He said he would not run if they had any other viable local candidate, but they didn't. In fact, in the interview it sounded very much like he had no intention of winning; only that he wanted to be sure that Obama had someone to run against. I don't know if I like his politics -- I don't know much about him -- but I feel well disposed toward him. Probably because he has many similarities to my father-in-law: black, well-educated, conservative, somewhat outrageous. Does no one else find that endearing?
Hypocrisy isn't very endearing. He's a hate-mongerer and an idiot. I look forward to his humiliating defeat on November 2nd.
Absolutely Juan, take out conservative and you described Obama...He is fearless when it come to telling voters things that they don't always want to hear...The thread about him a couple of months ago was amazing
